On August 17, we successfully completed an extremely challenging lung transplant surgery! We believe that after a full day of rigorous training, everyone is now equipped with valuable experience and ready to lead Taiwan onto the international stage! The Da Vinci course for this year is nearing end❗️❗️
Tomorrow, Professor. Wen-shih Huang, the Deputy Superintendent of Chiayi Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, will perform a Da Vinci colorectal surgery. The day after tomorrow, Professor. Ta-Sen Yeh, the Deputy Superintendent of Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, will demonstrate a Da Vinci gastrectomy as the final session of the joint course. CGMH STARC looks forward to meeting participants from around the world and continues to strive to enhance the quality of medical care!!🌾

We've successfully completed Taiwan's first-ever Laryngectomy, and Laryngotracheal reconstruction" cadaveric course! Despite the challenges, as Dr. Tuan-Jen Fang, the lead organizer, said: "What is there to fear?"

長庚手術訓練中心大師示範課程，下一場由國際知名大師Kevin C.Chung授課。

Professor Chung為整形外科與手外科權威，為密西根醫學大學及綜合手外科中心(Comprehensive Hand Center)主任，曾任美國手外科醫學會(American Society for Surgery of the Hand)第75任主席以及現任PRS(Plastic and reconstructive surgery)主編。Professor Chung主編的教科書目前已被翻譯成世界多種主要語言，為手外科領域之通用工具書。

Topic:
Tendon Transfer for Upper Limb Reconstruction:
The use of tendon transfer in the upper extremity is a valuable tool for reconstructive surgeons when dealing with nerve damage or the loss of key muscle-tendon units. This technique takes advantage of the redundancy and expendability of tendons by utilizing nonessential tendons to restore the function of lost or nonfunctional muscle-tendon units.
This lecture and cadaver demonstration provides historical background, common applications in the upper limb, and technical tips to facilitate successful tendon transfer. The objectives are to familiarize with tendon transfer history, identify principles and preoperative considerations, understand muscle-tendon unit physiology and tension-setting strategies. Tendon transfers have evolved to a powerful technique to correct deficits in patients affected by trauma, peripheral nerve palsies, cerebral palsy, stroke, and inflammatory arthritis.

The demonstration would be devided into two parts:
Part I: Lecture: The cutting-edge knowledge of tendon transfer: philosophy, skill and reflection (1 hour)
Part II: Cadaver dissection:
1.Free style tendon transfer and Tendon transfer for Radial nerve palsy (1 hour)
2.Tendon transfer for Ulnar. Median and combine nerve palsy (1 hour)

長庚手術技能訓練暨研發中心4/18~4/20跨院區內部訓練課程圓滿結束！
感謝每一位熱情參與的學員和優秀的手術醫師、專家們，以及所有辛勤工作的工作人員！

這是中心第一次舉辦的內部訓練，我們集合了神經外科、整形外科、眼科等不同專科，共同舉辦這場為期3天的手術訓練，特別邀請各院區優秀的手術醫師和專家來為大家授課，並結合實際操作演練，讓學員們深入學習手術技能，提高對手術水平。

在三天的課程中，學員們不斷發揮學習熱情並積極提問，表現出色、成果斐然！我們相信，這次訓練不僅提高了學員們的技能，更對提升醫療品質起到推動效果！

長庚手術訓練中心首場手術示範課程由魏福全院士領軍，學員來自馬來西亞、新加坡、日本、韓國、以色列、瑞典、埃及等22個國家，於2023年3/25-3/26舉行，參與人數達近百人，提供來自國際的外科醫師一個極佳的場域來學習外科手術。

長庚手術技能訓練暨研發中心於2023年3月14日揭牌啟用

長庚醫院自創院以來不斷提升醫療服務品質，更重視外科訓練的重要性。在王瑞慧董事長的全力支持下，籌備2年，於林口院區研究大樓斥資建置一座國際級的「手術技能訓練暨研發中心」。

手術訓練區共設置24台手術台，為全台最大規模之手術訓練場域，配置儀器設備、手術器械等教學設備，單場次可容納百位醫師進行手術訓練，並傳承長庚醫院創院四十多年經驗，結合長庚體系各院區手術專精領域的優秀師資，提供外科醫師精進手術技能，承載著所有病患和家屬的重大期許，精進外科醫師訓練模式，造福更多病患。
長庚「手術技能訓練暨研發中心」同時建置視訊設備，提供多場域同步學習的優勢，例如與國際先進技術、尖端設備廠商合作，發展創新訓練模式。

健保署石崇良署長表示，外科手術操作者的經驗值是成功關鍵，過去手術訓練都是跟著老師在病人身上練刀，有了訓練中心就能提前模擬訓練，對於醫療品質和病人安全有很大助益，讚長庚體系斥資投資亞洲最大模擬訓練中心，並開辦國際班，讓投入先進醫療科技的各國都能到此訓練，為國際醫療貢獻心力，創下新里程碑，也成為另一個台灣之光。

長庚「手術技能訓練暨研發中心」啟用後，首場次於2023年3月25日、26日由魏福全院士領軍整形外科醫療團隊進行手術示範課程，開放國內外醫師報名參與，報名踴躍，學員來自馬來西亞、日本、韓國、香港、新加坡、以色列、沙烏地阿拉伯、瑞典、義大利、哥倫比亞、埃及…等22個國家，另同步開放視訊課程及國內醫師及醫學生參與。
