In the indigenous (Atayal tribe) Taoshan Community in central Taiwan can be found an outdoor art installation of a half buried giant and a bird's nest fern forest. The origins of this art installation are a bit unclear. Some say that it was commissioned for a recreational farm planned for this site and some say that it was created to remember a construction worker who died on the job. The farm project was abandoned and the artwork was neglected until this site was recently turned into a park. Bird's nest fern is an edible fern and served in many indigenous community restaurants.
