Who would have thought 4 years later the fallout still has a drastic effect on the families?

It will be years before the families are able to recover; the kids are the ones that suffer most with food and education falling to the bottom of the list. The opportunities to find work or sell their products have disappeared.

Somehow they manage with little or nothing. I am in awe of how they cope and still continue to be beautiful people.

We’ve been busy getting the MaasaiKids Education Centre ready for students❣️ The first three months is a beginner English course and will be followed by a three month intermediate and a three month advanced course for an English Certificate.📚 We’re impressed with our teacher - he has taught for 10 years and has a handle on what the kids need.😜😜 We have 10-12 kids enrolled and have posted for more students (16+) - we can seat 24 and that would make our life a lot easier 👍.

Following completion of the English Certificate 🧑🏽‍🎓 we will offer courses in Hospitality, Accounting, Guiding, Hotel Management❣️We’ll play it by ear if this group of students are interested in something else ie. mechanics, culinary,🥗 etc.

Education is the key to leave the cycle of poverty behind and give them a hand up for a better future❤️❤️❤️

Here we are with 2022 almost finished and moving into a brand New Year 2023❣️

We have been struggling to stay afloat with the very minimum of donations and hoping this new year brings some relief.❤️❤️❤️

The sponsor parents have been amazing and continue to support either one or two Maasai kids. 💕 We will be taking these kids a Christmas hamper for their families and a special gift from Santa. 😍

Here we are - giving you a late update although I’m sure you have all seen how drastic situations have become.

If you have followed us from the beginning of our journey you will know that we have given 100 kids a chance to go to school. They were given complete new uniforms from donations received through generous and thoughtful supporters of Maasai kids. We are proud to say we supported 50 older kids (18-25) who we enrolled in programs at a technical college that will provide a better future for this particular age group.

Those of you early birds to our program might remember the triplets that came a bit later in the game and had not gone to school and wanted to start. Mama was a single mom of 5 kids after her man ran off. Maasai kids got them outfitted and off they went. Now Maasai kids are helping the other two siblings in the family go to school. Although donations are at an all time low - these kids deserve better. It’s heartbreaking when all the siblings from one family aren’t going to school Maasai kids made it happen❣️

On another note - we still have my amazing friend, Karla Kehlers, very special book for kids on sale. The first book is Maya Papaya and the second is Happy Stan the Recycle Man - Saves Christmas❣️Both are available on Amazon, Chapters and our website ❤️❤️ and an absolute great gift🥰🥰 for the kids in the family 🎄 🎅 (hint). 😬😬

So very thankful and grateful to receive enough donations this month that allowed us to distribute more grocery items.

Along with the grocery items we put another child 👧 in school, and gave backpacks 🎒 to kids that were carrying their school supplies in bags or their arms!! We have some happy kids and families❤️❤️❤️.

Again, thank you - we can’t possibly express how much this means to help even one community❣️❣️

These last few years have been a disaster for everyone 😢 - we are proud of all of you for helping the poorest of the poor❣️THANK YOU.

Here it is 2022 and we are still in the running. Generous people have been our lifeline for the past 2.5 years and we are forever grateful. Our kid sponsors have managed to pay for their school tuitions, given them new school uniforms, new backpacks with their school supplies, and most of all provided food for them and their families monthly. All this for $30 a month to save these kids❣️
