Arena recycling industry
Arena recycling industry offer Eco friendly Bricks made from recycled plastic waste for construction of affordable houses, offices, schools and toilets
We were proud to participate in the 2023 commemoration at Mikoko Beach, Dar es Salaam! With over 100 participants from the University of Dar es Salaam, Social Ventures in Circular Economy, NGOs, and individuals, we came together to clean up the beach and play some beach soccer.
As one of the most populous cities in Africa, we must take action towards proper waste management to prevent waste from polluting our oceans and water bodies.
Through events like this, we can engage with the community, encourage sustainable practices, and speed up the recyclability of waste by reducing waste mixing.
Let's continue to work together toward a more sustainable future!
🏆

Data Recording ,Data Tracking ♻️

Why are we doing this ??
The advantage of recording waste and brand auditing for cleaning up an event is that it helps in identifying the types of wastes that are generated and the brands that are responsible for generating those wastes.
This information can then be used to develop strategies for reducing the amount of waste generated during the event and to encourage the responsible brands to adopt more environmentally-friendly practices.
By tracking and analyzing waste data, we can also ensure compliance with local regulations, reduce disposal costs, and improve overall sustainability performance. Additionally, recording waste and conducting brand auditing can help to raise awareness about waste reduction and encourage event attendees to adopt more sustainable behaviors.
Our goal is not only to recycle plastic waste but also to raise awareness on waste management and recycling. By the end of this project, we aim to reach 6,000 people and educate them on sustainable waste management practices."

As part of the project, we successfully launched our first cleanup event at Lake Victoria's LUCHELELE WARD. Over 705 individuals, including volunteers, Scouts, and students, attended, and we collected 35 bags of trash, including 518kgs of waste and 15,811 items from five streets (Silvini, Nyamarango, Sweya, Mchangani, and Sweya Landing Site Beach).
We believe that the litter from the streets contributes to lake pollution, which is why we started raising awareness among households and collecting waste.
Our ultimate goal with this project is to remove plastic waste from the great lakes (Victoria, Nyasa, Tanganyika) through citizen science and community engagement, while promoting a circular economy.
This project funded by Norwegian Retail's Environment Fund and implemented by the Norwegian Research Center, University of Dar es Salaam, EMEDO, Arena Recycling, and Mwanza Municipal city Council."
HAPPY WASTE PICKERS DAY , Today’s your day and we are cerebrating you and acknowledging the work you are doing towards our environment

Waste pickers play a crucial role in our society and are often an essential part of the informal economy in many countries. Here are some of the reasons why waste pickers are important:
Recycling: Waste pickers collect recyclable materials such as plastics, paper, metal, and glass, which can be reused and recycled. Recycling helps to reduce waste and conserve natural resources, and waste pickers are an integral part of this process.
Waste reduction: Waste pickers also help to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and other disposal sites. By collecting and sorting materials that can be reused or recycled, they prevent these materials from taking up space in landfills.
We are thrilled to share that our Head of Operations and Development Mr Zagalo Emanuel has been selected as an Island Innovation Ambassador for 2023! We are incredibly proud of this achievements and dedication to promoting a and addressing the waste crisis.
Our ambassador will be serving the world's largest freshwater island, Ukerewe, and Zanzibar, which are currently underserved despite their high population densities. We are excited about the positive impact that they will drive in their community and beyond as they connect with other changemakers and work towards a sustainable future.
At ARENA RECYCLING INDUSTRY we believe that it is our responsibility to contribute to a healthier planet and support initiatives that prioritize environmental conservation.
This year, we are proud to have established a partnership with esteemed organizations such as the Norwegian Research Center, University of Dar Es Salaam, and the Environment Management Development Organization. Our collaboration has resulted in the Clean Shores, Great Lakes project, a two-year initiative aimed at preventing and removing plastic litter from the environment.
To achieve this, we are engaging with local communities through clean-up activities and promoting a circular economy that emphasizes resource utilization and recycling. Additionally, we are leveraging citizen science approaches to generate data that will foster behavioral changes and ultimately reduce plastic use and leakage into the environment.
As Arena Recycling, our role is crucial in this project. We will be collecting plastic waste from three major lakes in Africa, including Lake Victoria, Nyasa, and Tanganyika, and promoting a plastic circular economy by recycling the plastic waste into eco-bricks. We are confident that this project will make a positive impact on these lakes and their surrounding communities.
When our CTO Zagalo Emanuel visited "Plastiki Rafiki," an International School of Kenya CSR project, he had a great time at Kirawa. In the School Design and Engineering center, he met two mechatronics engineers, Sadru and Anthony.
The ultimate objective was to learn how to recycle plastic and promote the circular economy because Plastiki Rafiki has a facility that manufactures basic recycling equipment.
Together with the Norwegian Research Center (NORCE), the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), and EMEDO, ARENA RECYCLING INDUSTRY will implement a " " project. With the ultimate aim of learning plastic littering patterns and hotspots, we will conduct annual beach cleanups, demonstrate recycling & plastic repurposing and increase awareness of the plastic pollution that has been left behind around the African Great Lakes (Victoria, Tanganyika, and Nyasa).
Fish from Lake Victoria has been revealed to have ingested microplastics, according to research done by NORCE Norwegian Research Centre and the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) a few years ago.
Therefore, ARENA RECYCLING INDUSTRY is prepared to present a clear illustration of how residents near the African Great Lakes can contribute address the rising problem of plastic pollution.

The world is still struggling to get alternative packaging over plastic packaging. On the other hand, sustainable solid waste management is still a pressing issue.
We can not sit and wait for the world to decide for us. We need solutions Together with The Women In Recycling Foundation we are on the mission of continuing to save the world free from plastic pollution by offering these solutions.
✅Beach Clean-ups
✅Plastic Recyling
✅Awareness
Yesterday we conducted a beach clean up event with 100+ participants from organizations and volunteers. Together we were able to collect
98 bags of trash, which made a total of 1.8 tons of waste, whereby 75% of the waste was plastic.

Happy World Clean Up Day
:
:
World Cleanup Day unites volunteers and partners worldwide to rid our planet of trash – cleaning up litter and mismanaged waste from our beaches, rivers, forests, and streets. World Cleanup Day harnesses the power of people around the world to achieve incredible things by joining together. Its beauty lies in cooperation and collaboration: building bridges between disparate communities, and including all levels of society – from citizens to business, to government.
Did you know that Recycling of 1 millions tons of plastic waste is equivalent to take 1 million of cars out the roads .
Recycling can be beneficial to reduce plastic production, but it has to be done the right way. Make sure to understand your local rules and regulations on what you can recycle and how to recycle items properly.
NB:We are accepting Colored PET bottles from 1 ton .Please reach us out for more details
