I was staying in a studio room on the ‘luxury’ floor (the only floor with dark wood rather than light wood), with a breathtaking view over Hyde Park and Notting Hill, and it had one of the largest hotel bathrooms I have ever seen, and a stunning one too that’s made entirely of marble. I adored the blue-green sofa and chair, and am now furiously browsing home sites to find one for my future-home.

The last time I’d stepped foot in Lancaster London was for our blogger’s Christmas afternoon tea way back in 2014. Since then they’ve had a £40million refurb and re-branded to Royal Lancaster, turning it from a 4-star to a 5-star hotel. And the change has been so great that I didn’t recognise the place at all. I stayed for one night and was blown away by how beautiful the design of the hotel is. It’s very on-trend right now and is full of gold, marble, bold blues and turquoises, and with beautiful gigantic mirrors everywhere.

We had the loveliest ladies dinner at Harry’s, however it wasn’t my favourite restaurant from the Caprice group. I still much prefer Le Caprice, The Ivy, and 34. Harry’s was nice, but nothing overly special and I honestly think there are better restaurants in the Knightsbridge area at a similar price point (Toto’s is a favourite Italian of mine in Knightsbridge, and Rivea by Alain Ducasse is also exceptionally good). As always though no matter where we dine, the company far surpassed the food, and being reunited with these ladies made me so happy to be back in London again

Everything was delicious, although the mac & cheese was very overcooked which was disappointing. I have a super sweet tooth though and can’t stand finishing a meal with a savoury taste in my mouth, so decided to be the odd one out and have a dessert. I have no shame when it comes to food. I chose the signature Harry’s Toadstool, which was a delicious combination of white chocolate and mascarpone mousse in the shape of a toadstool, with fresh raspberries, iced-vanilla parfait and pistachio biscotti crunch and pistachio sauce.

Food-wise we all decided to just have mains as we’d all had a weekend of indulgence. I chose the Chargilled Sea Bass fillet with courgette, avocado, pistachio, and a mint and lemon salsa. Mina and Angie chose the Chargrilled Tuna Steak with cannellini beans and a warm tomato, black olive, Amalfi lemon and basil salsa, while Binny went for the very moreish looking Pappardelle Al Ragu Bolognese covered in Parmesan cheese, and Emma opted for a pizza (not pictured). Sided-wise we had Homemade maccheroni cheese gratin, Garlic & rosemary thick cut chips, and Tomato & basil salad.

These ladies have been in my life for about 5-6 years now, and every time I see them I’m reminded of just how special the blogging community is, and how it has enriched my life in so many ways. We chose Harry’s Dolce Vita for our dinner. It was a Monday and many restaurants in London aren’t open on Monday’s, and as it’s part of the Caprice Group, we knew it would be unlikely to disappoint.
