"The History of Ukraine".
This conceptual piece of art is the echo of the war in Ukraine. I wanted to make a piece with the meaning of great hope and the idea of revival. The powerful roots of our history cannot be destroyed. Even if the tree is cut, it will recover, grow back, and be even better.
The roots and the sprout are made of gold 14K, the tree - sterling silver in black, the circle - damascus steel, hematite beads, rubber lace.
Happy holidays and all the best wishes, my friends! Let joy, peace and love be in every home and every heart!

Welcome to Koan Jewelry
My name is Andrew Seginovich, designer, maker and creator of Koan Mokume Gane Jewelry. Welcome to my shop!
The studio was created in 2005, and since that time I've been seeking the most interesting, inspiring and beautiful designs to make you happy. I hope you will enjoy my work and I promise to do my best to make you satisfied.
The main technique I work in is mokume gane - wooden texture in metal. Mokume-gane (木目金 Mokumegane) is a Japanese metalworking procedure which produces a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns. Mokume-gane translates closely to "wood grain metal" or "wood eye metal" and describes the way metal takes on the appearance of natural wood grain.
Every piece has a unique layering pattern produced by labor-intensive forging of multiple layers of different metals, followed by repeated heating and re-forging.
