Team Work Wins
Nehemiah 4:15-21

*“So we continued to work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out”* Nehemiah 4:21.

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. In football, the team is as powerful as how well each of the team members plays their role. It doesn’t matter how well one can score if the goal-keeper does not do his part, the opposing team can still win. Again, no matter how good the goal keeper is, if there is no good defense, it would be hard for him to keep the goal. It takes the full participation of members for the team to win!

In rebuilding the Jerusalem wall, Nehemiah prayed to God to intervene and that the king would look on him favorably. God answered. He then sought for the people to work with him. All the workers worked as a formidable team amidst great oppositions- even going as far as working with one hand and protecting themselves from their enemies with the other. In the end, they won.

We are always tempted to “go it alone”, but God’s truth affirms that we are meant to succeed as a community of faith. (Eph. 4:15). God has purposed that we should be better together than alone. God’s Word teaches that two are better than one and that in a multitude of counselors, there is safety. God’s plans are meant to be realized by His people working as a team.

Insight:
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together- African Proverb

📌 At 5 his father died.
📌 At 16 he quit studying.
📌 By 17 he already tried 4 jobs.
📌 At 18 he got married.
📌 Between 18 and 22 he worked as a driver and gave up.
📌 He joined the army and but didn’t make the grade.
📌 He tried to enter judicial school and was rejected.
📌 He failed as an insurance salesman.
📌 At 25 his wife left him and took his only daughter.
📌 Washed dishes in a small coffee shop.
📌 Failed to attempt to get his daughter back.
📌 At 65 he finally retired.

On the first day of his retirement the government gave him $105. He sat under a tree to write his testament but realised there was something he had not done, and that was cooking.

With the money from the government gave him, he bought himself a fryer, made fried chicken using a recipe his grandmother taught him, and sold it door to door in his village.

At the age of 88 Colonel Sanders, founder of KFC was a billionaire.

So if you fail at something, dont quit?

Life will test you as many times as necessary, even when you're ready to receive everything it has for you.

So don't give up, keep moving forward,keep believing and you will eventually get to your destination.
