This week, we successfuly conducted our first Africa Youth Month activity at Kampala University where we trained the Students' Guild Council on Community Mobilization and Advocacy skills. We are confident that what was learnt will be of benefit to them and those that they lead.
Happy Africa Youth Month!
We today visited -Kinawata, a youth group that is empowering youths through sustainable urban farming. We are inspired by the green space they have created which also acts as a central youth point.
We dialogued about a number of issues facing youths but also resolved to empower more young people for active citizenship and build stronger youth partnership synergies.
Our founder and team leader will be among the speakers during the conference to share his experience and thoughts on with the graduating fellows. Join us as we inspire Africa's line of today and future leaders.

Our Monday session with adolescent girls of Kasoli Parish, Tororo District was a timely one to encourage the young girls to stay in school which resumes next week. We were happy to have been joined by the regions youth member of parliament, Odoi Benard Onen who committed to raise these girls daily concerns for action. We also distributed sanitary pads to the participants.
Last week, we hosted a National Youth Dialogue themed "Fostering Meaningful Youth Participation in Covid19 Recovery Programs and Economic Sustainability". The event which also hosted the Youth Member of Parliament for Eastern Region, Hon. Odoi and the Guild President of Makerere University, Alionzi Lwarence Dangote was aimed at convening youth voices on equitable recovery from the pandemic.

Digital skills are essential for survival in today's 4th Industrial Revolution economy. It is important that we make access to digital skills open to all learners in the country.

Our team leader has for the past 3 days been representing us and the rest of young people in this nation at the summit in Rwanda. We are convening youth voices for action and we hope to do even better.
Our team leader Benson Onyango is at Lusaka-Zambia where he is participating on deliberations under the Africa Youth Partnership Program that will shape an advocacy program and tools for inclusion of youths in Africa in their national Covid-19 recovery initiatives. We believe in youth-led policies for youth development. Kudos, founder!

Congratulations to our mentee, Nyadoi Christine upon starting her community project.
Christine is using her academic break to engage school girls in Katajula Sub County who are in holidays through hand craft training. We believe that this will go a long way in economically empowering the girls while combating teenage pregnancy and school drop out among girls in this community.

We spent the better part of this weekend training the youths of Tororo Municipality how to locally produce petroleum jelly. We believe that these skills can help them recover from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
