Steps to a successful brooder
1.Avail space befitting you're number of chickens,to avoid over crowding, because over crowding causes suffocation

2.Make sure the brooder has the right temperature, it shouldn't be too cold or too hot, when it's too cold and too hot, the chicks tend to engulf in corners, but when it's the right temperature, you'll see them moving freely, be very vigilant on that.

3.it should have lights,especially at night

4.Avail stoves or any warming agent incase of rain and coldness at night, on first day provide warmth day and night

5.The chicks should have enough warmth for the first two weeks, starting from day one

6.The floor of the brooder should be well covered with husks, they could be coffee husks or wood husks, these prevent coldness coming from the ground or floor.

7. Make sure not to light the stoves from inside the brooder, because the smoke is very harmful to the chicks, it causes flu and cough

8.Always keep you're brooder dry and clean, that's why you should lay Manila papers on top of the husks, because they are Avery good drying agent. This helps to avoid diseases

9.caution avoid corners in you're brooder, because some chicks tend to hide there, that's why it's advisable,the inside of you're brooder should be made in a circular form , to avoid corners where they will hide and squeeze them selves hence suffocating.

10.Make sure you can easily monitor every area in you're brooder, and be sure all the chicks have access to water and feeds

11.For those who can, hang you're feeders and drinkers at a higher level from the ground, as this helps from food spillage and wetting the brooder and it also prevents the chicks from contaminating the water, with their feet, thus reduces spread of diseases
