………I’ve been raised to be polite.
To have good manners. Only if it doesn’t suffocate me as an individual. Our Father encouraged us to speak up! And to be bold. Respectfully though.

And it’s funny.
Because there appears to have been a cross over.

This politeness.
Has resulted in people taking the p**s. Thinking they can step on me. When i retaliate, am branded stubborn. Which is okay….

This politeness.
Is me being the respectable female that should hold her tongue.

This politeness.
Is me refusing to speak my mind and telling people that they’ve hurt me when I feel monumentally heartbroken by their actions…

But these things, shouldn’t be confused.
Not ever.

Because there’s a difference between being thankful, appreciative, and apologetic.

To letting someone walk all over you.

When we tell someone that they’ve hurt us, it’s not being impolite.
It’s not something we should feel guilty about.
It’s very IMPORTANT.
It’s something we should ALL learn to do.

Because when we allow people to take the p**s, we set the precedent.
Of the tone of HOW PEOPLE TREAT US. Keep your boundaries intact.

When you feel hurt, tell them.
Stop sparing their feelings at the detriment of your own.

Because only when you open up, can things begin to move forward. Can people respect your boundaries.

The way you feel is not invalid.
And sparing others feelings is not conducive to you helping yourself work through your own hiccups.

So please tell them. Speak up!!
