Sermon; Where is God in your LIFE??

I want to ask yo a question; how many times do you pray in a day? Read your Bible? Pray for the sick?

You wake up everyday and do whatever you like BUT how many of you think about God and what HE does for you?

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

In our lives there are things that consume us BUT have you taken a minute to THANK GOD for your Life.

I want to tell you everything we see on earth will come to an end/destroyed but God will remain.

When do we ever think of God first?? He should be the FIRST thing we should think of.

This is the time for us to repent our sins, deny ourselfish ways and invite Jesus Christ in our Lives.

In the Book of Jeremiah, HE says HE has good plan for you and HE wants you to fully TRUST HIM.

God lasts forever and ever and ever……… just look through your life and may you make it intentional that your life will reflect God.

Who do you run too and who do you put first??
Jeremiah 29:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.
Jeremiah 29:9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.

Putting things before God they become idols to us.
I tell you we should always run to God.

What happens when we put GOD FIRST;
He teaches us, Our future becomes secure, He protects us, He heals us, among other things.

We only have to Believe Him and also acknowledge that He is God.

Let’s put God in His RIGHT POSITION.

We need to establish a relationship with Him on a personal basis. Let’s seek Him.
There is nothing God can’t do

Heavy storm

Luke 8:22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
Luke 8:23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
Luke 8:24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
Luke 8:25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
Luke 8:26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
Luke 8:27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
Luke 8:28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

The disciples called upon Jesus “Master we are perishing”. Think about this; Did the disciples believe that HE was their LORD?

All of us we are in a boat called life BUT where is your FAITH AND WHO ARE YOU TRUSTING???

Some of us may be THE STORM is much and we are stuck or we don’t know what to do?? BUT GOD allows storms for A REASON.

In the boat, HE knew that there was going to be a storm (HE IS GOD). He allows certain things to happen to us when HE is up to something…..

He allows storms, problems etc in order to expose our dependency on HIM, weaknesses and to let us know that we can’t live without HIM.

I’m here to tell you that YOU NEED JESUS CHRIST. All of us we are vulnerable.

Take Notice; that not every storm comes from God but some come because of our own mistakes.

The storm exposes us to show how much we TRUST GOD.

The disciples didn’t know the JESUS they were with….. But instead they cried we are dying, we are dying.

Can we cry to God NOT to the problem or Situation.

Stephen was stoned to death but he didn’t glorify the Storm (stoning him) BUT he focused on Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is our GOOD SHEPERD

Luke 8:25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

DO YOU REALLY KNOW WHO GOD IS??
Where is your FAITH??

Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

John 14:25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

God speaks of the another helper (Holy Spirit)not leaving us without being helped.

The day you give your life to Jesus Christ you receive the HOLY SPIRIT who is your helper. And the Holy Spirit is God himself.

You are not of THIS WORLD and this is a great difference between us who believe in Jesus Christ and the non believers.

When we accept Jesus Christ, we are not left as orphans.
God through HIS Holy Spirit He wants to help you and please not that the Holy Spirit is here to guide you.

We are on a journey and it’s a journey of walking with Jesus Christ and it’s SPIRITUAL. That’s why we need God to walk us through the journey.

Through the journey we are required to leave our comfort zones, we might be mocked, tempted, arrested and beaten etc because of Jesus Christ.
Through the journey, the devil also want to take you off.

BUT the journey has a destination;
Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Philippians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

The destiny of evil is;
Philippians 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
Philippians 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Deuteronomy 20:4 For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.
We are in the battle and we fight SPIRITUALLY.

God himself fights for us……
I want to go through the things the Holy Spirit does;

The Holy Spirit teaches us Gods word. And it’s us that need the Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 20:4 For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

The Holy Spirit dwells in you
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

The Holy Spirit seals us that we belong to God and proof to us that we belong to God.
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

The Holy Spirit intercedes for us;
Romans 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

The Holy Spirit reveals unto us who God is;
1 Corinthians 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

We need to be obedient to the leadership of the Holy Spirit

1 Kings 17:7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
1 Kings 17:8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
1 Kings 17:9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
1 Kings 17:10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
1 Kings 17:11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
1 Kings 17:12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

Look at the world we have now? People no longer help each other.
Look at how people are dying hungry?

May be you only have little or nothing Left ??? And here comes Elijah asking the only HOPE/Food you have….. BUT GOD says “TRUST ME “

God wanted to deliver some one ( the widow).

The widow was so obedient and “trusted”. And she never remained the same.

May be God is visiting you today, to night BUT HE is only asking that you TRUST HIM.

The question is are you OBEDIENT ENOUGH???

1 Kings 17:17 And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
1 Kings 17:18 And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
1 Kings 17:19 And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
1 Kings 17:20 And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?
1 Kings 17:21 And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again.
1 Kings 17:22 And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

Can we stop pretending before God. Because God sees deep in our hearts…….. The widow never doubted God and gave what she had.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
And as she was going to bring it

Can we learn something from the story
1. BELIEVE
2. HAVE FAITH
4. BE OBEDIENT

God promised Abraham a child and he was faithfully to his PROMISES.

You remember when God proposed the Israelites… some thought the promise was not going to come to pass. But Gods PROMISES ARE ALWAYS TRUE..

Man can promise and fail to fulfill BUT when God promise, He fulfills.

Gods power is working in us and it will never leave us the same as promised. We need to believe that He is faithful to ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS.

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

God only wants you to call on him

Jeremiah
“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.’” — Jeremiah 29:11

What you are going through is part of the plan of God

John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

He only wants us to believe Him and WAIT ON HIM.

Be greatful for Gods Promises and read the Bible and Trust in His WORD.
We need to pray in His Promises.

How many times have we sinned but He forgives us.
GOD CALLS YOU TO FORGIVE YOU.

Have faith in God
He is the Healer
He is going to touch you tonight
HAVE FAITH IN HIM TODAY

Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

God can’t leave you the same when you lean on Him.

It’s time to get right with God .. TRUST HIM

What Promises are you holding onto????

He supplies our needs..

1 Thessalonians 1:2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
1 Thessalonians 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
1 Thessalonians 1:4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.

God created us in HIS own image but Sin corrupted man

Lets look at the 3 categories of man;

1. Natural man
He is born into a human family but doesnt believe in God because was born by sinful man. He operates on his own understand…. The things of God are foolishness to him
1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
His instructions come from his personal thinking.

This man doesn’t have the spirit of God to reveal to him the things of God

Three factors that drive this man;

The lust of the eye; whatever he sees he wants to take… when he sees a car, he wants to take, good house he wants to take

Lusts of the fresh; e.g hunger at some point this man wants to eat all and not to leave anything. Things of the fresh are so sweet and they put them before God.

Pride;
Where you esteem your self above everyone. pride distracts us from seeing God because all the time its me me me. This makes a man self centered.

2. The carnal man
This man is a believer but he doesn’t submit totally to God.
This man doesn’t grow spiritually as he doesn’t allow God to use his life. They commit sin and take pride in their sins.
If in your life you commit fornication, your jealous, you envy, etc are you not carnal???

3. Spiritual man
He is a believer and lead by the spirit
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Corinthians 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

Spiritual man characters are;

>He is able to understand the things of God

> Not driven by pride and lust

> He does the will of God
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Are we doing what God is telling us to do or we are doing our own things ???

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

God wants you to be a blessing and to follow Him with everything of yours

Can we start doing the will of God and purpose to grow spiritually in the things of God?

Let’s read Gods word and let’s participate in Gods work (one way of growing as a spiritual man).

God requires us to do His will and also calls us to be a living example.

Let Jesus Christ be reflected in your life….

I want to talk about a story of excuses.. some men were given invitations to attend to a party but each one stated his excuse

Luke 14:15 And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
Luke 14:16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
Luke 14:17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
Luke 14:18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
Luke 14:19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
Luke 14:20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
Luke 14:21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
Luke 14:22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
Luke 14:24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

Some times we give lots of excuses to God and we end up missing great opportunities of working for His Kingdom.

We get hindered by excuses…. But remember Jesus said is coming soon therefore we have limited time.
It’s time to Start working for God and leave our our selfish ways/desires.

The chance is now that we stop 🛑 giving excuses

God invites you the way you are regardless of where you come from, culture, family etc.

Some of us we serve with Gods people and may be we haven’t given in our everything and that equals to ACCUSES.

The cross reminds us how Christ never allowed excuses

There are facts we need to know and hopefully they can help us to stop giving excuses;

1. Jesus died on cross for your life

2. There is heaven and hell

3. We shall all face judgement

Looking at the cross, we are reminded of lots of things…. Christ never allowed to be taken up by an excuse of resisting to die for you and me to save us from our wicked ways.

If you love the earthly things more than God then you are not for HIM…

If you have never given your life to God then the time is now.

When God said let the Israelites GO, Pharaohs heart grew hard for so many reasons but God still fought for them.

Exodus 14:5 And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
Exodus 14:6 And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:
Exodus 14:7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.
Exodus 14:8 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.
Exodus 14:9 But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.
Exodus 14:10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

May be God hasn’t done enough in our thinking but surely I tell you that God HAS NO BAD INTENTIONS FOR YOU.

Some of us when we are going through problems, we start doubting God.

GOD IS ON YOUR CASE AND HE IS WITH YOU, HE HAS GREAT PLANS FOR YOU.

He is the HEALER and He wants to heal you and help you because He calls you His OWN.

The children of Israel at some point they were seeing disappointment, problems, death, Generational curses, fear etc…..

But I want to tell you that “STAND STILL” and “TRUST” because God is doing something new for you TODAY..

Jesus Christ is our hope and our future….. And I just want to encourage you to never give up but to STAND STRONG IN GOD.

LOOK TO HIM, LOOK TO HIM THE GIVER OF EVERYTHING, THE GOD WHO FORMED US IN OUR MOTHERS WOMB.

Let’s pray about something today NOW against any sort of fear, worry, problems, curses etc

God opened the waters for the Israelites to pass through when they thought they were DONE…..

GOD IS SAYING A BIG NOOOO TO YOUR DEATH TODAY, SUFFERING, DISEASES ETC
