UPDATE: 12 more people succumb to Covid-19 in Uganda in 24 hours

Government has revised the COVID-19 guidelines as follows;

* All schools & institutions of higher learning to close for 42 days from 8:00am 7th June 2021.
* "All teachers to get vaccinated before they are accepted back to school",
* Communal prayers in churches, mosques and stadiums suspended for 42 days.
* Travel from category A countries according to the ministry of Health remain suspended. India is the only one in category A.
*Marriage ceremonies and all other social gatherings are only allowed with only 20 people. House parties are strictly banned and this will be implemented without fail
*Number of persons at burials and vigils should not exceed 20 people, President Museveni.
All public transport between and across districts suspended for 42 days from the 10th June 2021.
*All inter district travels banned except in Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono.
* Weekly markets are suspended for 42 days.
Monthly cattle markets are also suspended for 42 days.
*Private vehicles to be restricted to not more than 3 people including the driver.
* Factory, construction activities to continue under strict observance of SOPs.
* Agricultural activities to proceed.
*Shopping malls, supermarkets will continue while observing SOP's.
• Private vehicles to ferry not more than three passengers, and no inter-district movement for 14 days
*Boda bodas allowed to ferry goods and not more than one passenger.
*Conferences suspended for 42 days, except cabinet, legislature and judiciary sittings .
* Curfew shall remain at 9.00 pm to 5:30 am
