THE POOR ARE A DOOR TO ATTRACT GOD'S BLESSINGS.

Proverbs 19:17 NIV‬

"Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done."

Humanly, or rather fleshly, the poor and needy might not probably seem a door or an avenue through which God promised blessings and breakthrough to those who remember them. Little did Cornelius, actually knew the impact of his alm giving habit. However, we are told God kept the records of the alms-giving of the Roman-gentile centurion. "About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!” And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God." (Acts 10:3-4) NKJV
It's amazing how God visits and remembers those whose purpose and course is to relieve suffering and pain from people. God is very faithful! Whether you are saved or not; as long as you touch the poor and the needy and clear off tears from their eyes genuinely, without any ulterior motive to that act; be assured that, God will never underestimate this virtuous fortitude towards His people. Of course, God knew Cornelius could actually receive his earthly blessings as a result of the giving (the cause and effect principle); however, ultimately, God knew the earthly blessings wasn't enough, Cornelius also needed Peter to share with him and his family the eternal gospel of Christ Jesus, so that he and his family would receive the bigger rewards of our Good works - salvation of our soul through Christ. (Proverbs 28:27) NKJV says, "He who gives to the poor will not lack, But he who hides his eyes will have many curses."

Many people accumulate curses from the poor, instead of blessings from God as a result of remembering the poor. He are a few ways people receive curses of the bitter poor;

Firstly Lack of Blessings: The rich or the privileged may miss out on the blessings that come from helping those in need. Proverbs 19:17 (NIV) says, "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done." -

Secondly Divine Retribution or the judgement of God: Ignoring the plight of the poor may lead to divine consequences from above, which can manifest as various curses or hardships. "If you refuse to listen to the cry of the poor, your own cry for help will not be heard." - Proverbs 21:13 (NLT)

Thirdly, Social Unrest: A growing gap between the rich and the poor can lead to social unrest, protests, or even revolutions, which can disrupt the stability and prosperity of society, affecting the rich as well. Proverbs 14:20 (NIV) says, "The poor are shunned even by their neighbors, but the rich have many friends."

Fourthly, Loss of Respect and Influence: Failure to assist the poor can lead to a loss of respect and influence in society. Proverbs 14:31 (NIV) "Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God." -

Conclusively, the poor are poor to us, not as a burden or a misfortune; but, the poor are poor among us, as a ministry or as a source of Divine Blessings to the privileged and the righteous. On the Last Judgement day, the poor and needy will be the yardstick! The Lord will say, ‘'....Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;...... naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’" God bless you. ONES ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE WORD OF GOD AFFECTS THE QUALITY OF THEIR LIFE

Proverbs 19:16 RSV‬

"He who keeps the commandment keeps his life; he who despises the word will die."

It's certainly not a small thing discussing on the significance of God's Word or God's Commandments, both to God Himself and to man. David the Psalmist, after years of his close walk with God came to a place and understood that one can't walk effectively with God without attaching importance to God's Word. He learnt that God has exalted His own Word above His own name. He says,
"I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name." (Psalms 138:2) NKJV.

To Moses' young and inexperienced successor Joshua; the only password and key to his leadership prosperity and success would literally tied to how he handled or treated the Word. He says, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." (Joshua 1:8) NKJV‬

And thirdly, if there was anything that mattered to Jesus, in regard to His relationship to the Father and, even training His disciples, it was the importance He attached to His Word. At one point He told the Jew disciples, "So He said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32) BSB‬

At another point, Jesus had to define what loving him truly meant, He told them, " If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." (John 14:15) BSB. Meaning loving Jesus is not just a mouth project, it's exactly how to relate to His Commandments, how you relate to His Word!
Why is God's Word so critical portion of human existence?

Here are five important reasons why believers must attach significance to God's words, without which life is futile!!

Firstly, authority: God's words carry divine authority, guiding believers in their actions and decisions. Evil persons walk about like blind people, they don't know what will cause them stumble!! (Proverbs 4:19) BSB says, "... But the way of the wicked is like the darkest gloom; they do not know what makes them stumble."

Secondly, revelation: Through God's words, believers gain insight into His character, purposes, and plan for their lives. The Word gives illumination- light (Psalms 119:130)

Thirdly, faith: God's promises, as conveyed through His words, strengthen believers' faith and trust in Him. (Heb. 11:6)

Fourthly, truth: God's words provide a foundation of truth that believers can rely on in a world filled with uncertainty and falsehood. (John 8:32)

Fifthly, transformation: Meditating on and obeying God's words leads to spiritual growth and transformation in the lives of believers.
Just to mention. This therefore means whoever, despises God's Word will certainly never make it in this life!

So, are you stressed, tied, confused, hopeless, having no energy to continue with life? Just one thing, reach out for the Word! LAZINESS IS AN ENEMY TO OPPORTUNITIES

Proverbs 19:15 NKJV

"Laziness casts one into a deep sleep [unmindful of lost opportunity], And the idle person will suffer hunger."

The justice and righteousness of God surely, doesn't allow man to be permanently trampled and trassed down forever. I love how prophet Jeremiah guides himself in his lament and pain, reflecting on God's character, especially when, God finally decreed that Jerusalem the monumentous City of the God of Isreal was to be destroyed and the Jews people are to be taken to exile for their untamed rebellion against God. prophet Jeremiah pens down his emotions and pain and says,
"Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.......For no one is cast off by the Lord forever.Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone. To crush underfoot all prisoners in the land, to deny people their rights before the Most High, to deprive them of justice— would not the Lord see such things?" (Lamentations 3:22-23, 31-36) NIV. Hallelujah!! Praise the Lord!!

In other words, God's nature, as our heavenly father, is not to deprive a man from opportunities of growth, wellbeing, success, breakthrough, etc. There are myriads of opportunities that God keeps sending to us for our betterment. For instance, Having rain fall in your areas is a great opportunity. Other people in the World don't have this opportunity of having rain. In fact, we are told by the writer of the book of Genesis that God withheld rain from coming after finishing the other creation because there was yet no man to till (dig or work the soil), (Genesis 2:5) NIV says, "Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground,"

Some people have the opportunity of getting employment, either with the government or private sector; others have employed themselves in some gainful activities; whatever, it is you and me are engaged in, helping us meet our needs and effectively minister to others, it is an opportunity God has prepared for you.
However, one of the greatest challenge, the greatest enemy to the varied opportunities God has provided to you and me, in order to realize my purpose, meet my needs and be a blessing to others is the vice of laziness. Laziness is indeed a friendly enemy; laziness seem harmless and innocent, because laziness appeals to the areas of our life that seemingly promises us rest and enjoyment. The modern name is called Leisure. Sitting in one place, perhaps with stretched legs, as one receive service from a Waiter, while doing nothing, Truly seem very attractive and it's almost the dream of everyone.
And yet, in God's economy, work is tagged together with man purpose of existence, his livelihood and God's glory.

So, when someone decide to be lazy, that person, knowingly or unknowingly is, a very great liability and a danger or a risk to the systems God had set for the harmonious co-existence of human societies on Earth!!

lazy people are very destructive, why? laziness by default, causes the lazy, to waste and destroy every resources, which needed value addition and multiplication. In other Words, lazy people, instead of processing the hunt, they eat it raw. (Prov. 12:27). Instead, exploring, studying or planting the seeds given them, they merely decide to do nothing about the seed, and at worst, they eat the seed. If it's in a professional field, When one decides become lazy, it's so disrespectful to those who believe in you!
Jesus calls the lazy servant wicked Matthew 25. Apostle Paul outrightly directed the Thessolonians and says, "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10) NIV. A PRUDENT WIFE IS FROM THE LORD.

Proverbs 19:14 NKJV‬

"Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the Lord."

In As much as people, all have some form of opinion on how, why, when, what, of certain things they should be going about with, in regard to their individual lives, including their friends and neighbors; one fact still remains unchangeable, that God the creator, the Almighty, never left any part of human life for chance! David the Psalmist noted how accurate our God is, in regard to everything that concerns our existence on Earth, he says, "Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them." Psalms 139:16 NKJV.
In regard to marriage, Prophet Isaiah makes it even more closer! He says, ‭
"Search and read the scroll of the Lord: Not one of these will go missing, not one will lack her mate, because He has ordered it by His mouth, and He will gather them by His Spirit. He has allotted their portion; His hand has distributed it by measure. They will possess it forever; they will dwell in it from generation to generation." (Isaiah 34:16-17) BSB‬

What Prophet Isaiah is saying highligts about three important insights about marriage;
1. Marriage is decreed by God and it's meant for all - there is no need for frantic- pagan unrestlessness like he goat looking for a marriage partner; no one should be scared that they might miss to have an opportunity to be married. Because, God is behind the project of marriage!!
2. Holy Spirit is involved in communication and preparing of the marriage partner for God's sons and daughters. He knows the will of God for you!! Wait on Him and ask Him!
3. Marriage God gives you, is meant for life, forever!! No divorce is envisioned in God's original project of marriage. As long as God is involved in it, that marriage will last till death!

So, being aware that God is the designer and the originator of marriage should awaken us to the fact that the rampant divorce and malfunctions in marriages that we see today is surely not God's will. As apostle James clearly affirms that " Every good and perfect gift is from above, ." (James 1:17) BSB. This means, whatsoever doesn't have it's origin in God, can never stand the test of longevity!!
So, Prudent person is someone who Has or shows keen discernment, sound judgment, and farsightedness; the needed mentally shrewdness in handling life matters. God gives people wives in accordance to their purpose in life. If one is meant to be a pastor like me, God knows what kind of woman knows how to handle that need.
So, the question of people working out a wife for their son or working out a husband for their daughters; or the question of making decisions to marry based on external factors like beauty, level of education, the economic levels, etc, is a very big miss calculation to original design of the creator.
This is why, Many marriages has, unfortunately ended in deep winter seasons of separation, or even divorce, because the two seem to function dimetrically opposite, they just are not compatible according to their original design by the creator. As you, essentially know, what God Almighty hadn't any hand in building; it's just a matter of time, finds itself collapsing, if not for dozes of God's grace at play!!

In conclusion, the World is writhing in pain, essentially, because man has literally imagined that he can actually interpret and maneuver life on his own without God's input. Which to a larger extend is a very big miscalculations. Remember, "Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the Lord." God bless you. Rev. David Emazu. IT TAKES WISDOM TO OVERLOOK OFFENSES

Proverbs 19:11 NIV‬

"A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense"

By its name, offenses hurts; and inadvertently it takes Wisdom to function well when one is hurt by offenses. Jesus plainly gave a Wisdom to His followers in order to prepare themselves and act right in the face of offense. He says, “Offenses will certainly come, but woe to the one they come through! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to stumble. Be on your guard. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and comes back to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” (Luke 17:1-4) HCSB
There are myriads of causes to offenses, Here are just some few;

1. Miscommunication: Lack of clarity or understanding can lead to unintentional offense.
2. Different Cultural Norms:What's acceptable in one culture may be offensive in another.
3. Ignorance: People may not be aware that their words or actions are offensive to others.
4. Bias or Prejudice: Deep-seated biases can cause people to offend others based on race, gender, religion, or other characteristics.
5. Insensitivity: Some people may lack empathy or consideration for others' feelings, leading them to say or do things that are hurtful.
6. Intentional Provocation: Some individuals may deliberately seek to offend or provoke others for various reasons, such as attention or asserting dominance.
7. Unresolved Conflict: Past grievances or unresolved issues can lead to behaviors that are perceived as offensive.
8. Socialization: Upbringing and social influences can shape how people perceive and interact with others, sometimes leading to unintentional offense.
9. Misperception: Sometimes, people may interpret harmless actions or statements as offensive due to their own sensitivities or biases.

So, One always need wisdom to, firstly, safeguard their social and spiritual health while working with the crowd; a crowd or the public is a mixture of people having diverse background, levels of education, Understanding, etc. So, as much us possible, as Solomon advices, "Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life." (Proverbs 4:23) HCSB‬

So, what is the takeaway today?

Firstly, let it be to you a settled matters to you, of certainty that offenses can come to you any time!! It's not a may be! Or a sometimes thing! But, a matter of certainty!! So then, be on standby to handle any offenses, any time! Notice Jesus was clear, “It is impossible that no offenses should come,..." (Luke 17:1)NKJV‬

Secondly, judgment is certainly coming for those who mastermind offenses, sitting in ones house and plan offenses against any individual or the public. The way you dress (especially our daughters and sisters), your words, your attitudes etc, can actually stumble people!

Finally, don't allow offenses to control your live, just let go! If you don't, offenses has ability to start controlling your thoughts, your words and actions. Offenses can even peg you to the past, and yet your future needs your thoughts, your declarations and actions! Like Paul, simply say, ".......one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead," (Philippians 3:13) NKJV‬

In Conclusion, it's impossible to correct and guide everyone who is doing wrongs things around you; so, instead of getting hurt and sick by what others are doing, be patient with them, forgive them, and focus on your purpose, your emotional and spiritual health, leave the rest to God!! GOOD IS HIDDEN IN WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING.

Proverbs 19:8 NKJV‬‬

"He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good."

No one loves evil. Evil is evil! Even those who do evil don't do evil because they love it; the same is with those who promote evil; they do so because evil, literally, is a mystery! Evil is a force that bypasses man's power, man's reasoning and man's ability to restraint himself! Man doesn't understand it! Man doesn't like it, he doesn't love it, but he keeps doing it anyway!!! This how Apostle Paul describes his battle with sin and evil, he says, "For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do....For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Romans 7:14-15,18-19 (NKJV). What apostle Paul is describing is that the natural man apart Christ and the grace of God, is totally powerless and helpless to control himself from the power of sin and evil, it's only in our Lord Jesus Christ, that we can have power over sin and evil, the freedom to live free from the control and the power evil, Paul, in essence says to the believers, "Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.....For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace." Romans 6:11 (NKJV)

This is the very reason why God didn't want our first parents to take sin as a joke or treat sin flippantly! Sin and evil pose a very serious danger. Sin steals, kills and destroys utterly!! Right from the beginning, God warned Adam saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis 2:16-17 (NKJV).

However, the creator never created the World with evil, Infact, seven times in the first chapter of Genesis, He proclaimed that, His creation was Good; when He created man, He exclaimed that it was "very good". However, when man sinned, everything turned upside down, the good that was found in every creation has turned evil! David says now, "There are many who say, “Who will show us any good?”....." Psalms 4:6 (NKJV). Good has become scarce, how do I figure out good wife, how do I figure out good husband, good job, good friends, etc. Good seem scarce now.
However, I need you underscore here that man can't figure out good on their own, Good is hidden in God. God know where good stays, James 1:16-17 (NKJV) says, "Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."

So I believe, what Adam and Eve suffered from, which also got transferred to his entire generation is the fruits of foolishness. What is wasting, ravaging and devastating man is foolishness, also called sin. This therefore means, the only hope man has, for receiving goods endlessly from Heaven is the labor of gaining Wisdom and Understanding f on the Lord.

So Beloved, do you desire to be blessed, annointed, promoted and exalted, seek no further, seek the Lord!! Those who don't! Listen!! IT'S NOT WISE TO BLAME GOD

Proverbs 19:3 ERV‬‬

"People ruin their lives with the foolish things they do, and then they blame the Lord for it."

I have often heard people of God, so helplessly give testimony, or rather Express their grievance, frustration and annoyance at God when things don't go the way they desired. I once heard someone; I think, she needed God to act quickly on her challenge, but instead God seemed unconcerned on her case, So, in frustration she says, "Yesterday night, I quarrelled with God...!!!"; Another one came to me very very annoyed with God; now that God can not be seen, I became the object of this lady's anger against God, and she wondered why God is so unfair with her; another one came to me and pulled a list of all God had done against her; her mother is sick, the brother got a terrible accident, and is admitted in Hospital; the sister also broke her legs; and she asks why God is so unfair to her: another one was very annoyed with God because, her saucepans, plates, cups all got stollen at her tea selling place, when God was merely seeing, and simply did nothing, and she wondered why God is unconcerned and negligent!! the list goes on and on!!
According to how I perceived, all these people desperately needed God to intervene in their affairs and help them, for this to happen, we need to underscore the following;

Firstly, God is not a man (Physical), God is a Spirit (John 4:23-24), He doesn't relate with us the way we relate with one another. His ways, His thoughts, His plans are very different from our ways, our thoughts and our plans ( Jer. 29:11, Isaih 55:8-9). And since He is not physical, we must learn how to approach Him! For instance, (Heb. 11:6) ERV says, "Without faith no one can please God. Whoever comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who sincerely try to find him."

Secondly, man is fallen and sinful; and so, due to the sin barrier, God can't hear or work with man freely, if man refuses to humble himself and address the sin problem in his life!

(Job 36:5-14) NIV, Perfectly addresses the problem, he says;

Firstly, “God is mighty, but despises no one; he is mighty, and firm in his purpose." So, claiming God is negligent or despises people, it's not true!!

But secondly, God doesn't overlook the sin problem!! "He does not keep the wicked alive but gives the afflicted their rights." (Ron. 6:23)

Thirdly, "He does not take his eyes off the righteous; he enthrones them with kings and exalts them forever." Hallelujah! (John 9:31)

Fourthly, He tell man why He judges Him, "But if people are bound in chains, held fast by cords of affliction, he tells them what they have done— that they have sinned arrogantly. He makes them listen to correction and commands them to repent of their evil. If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment. But if they do not listen, they will perish by the sword and die without knowledge."

Fifthly, Elihu says, “The godless in heart harbor resentment( anger, blame and annoyance against God); even when he fetters (chains) them, they do not cry for help. ( Instead of humbly crying to God in Confession and repentance for help and support, they blame, resent, even insult God because of their pain and suffering)

Sixthly, Elihu says, because, they fail to comply to God's terms "They die in their youth, among male prostitutes of the shrines." They will die sinners.

So, in Conclusion, blaming, quarrelling, resenting, hating, insulting God for your pain and suffering is just like adding Petrol to the already burning fire. So turn and Repent today, He will hear and rescue you. God bless you. Rev. David Emazu. Onialeku Elim Church. Arua City, Uganda.

LEADERS MUST BALANCE THEIR ZEAL WITH KNOWLEDGE FOR EFFECT

Proverbs 19:2 BSB‬‬

"Even zeal is no good without knowledge, and he who hurries his footsteps misses the mark."

It's not a small damage or chaos created when Leaders are driven to act or participate in activities and plans by zeal without knowledge. Knowledge is so central to the leadership safety and effectiveness. Ignorance is so costly!
To underscore the Cardinal importance of knowledge to a leader, king Solomon says, "In everything a prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly. (Proverbs 13:16) RSV. In Another place, God was so sad with the priest at Hosea time because, they took the knowledge of God so Flippantly, He says, "my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children". (Hosea 4:6) NIV. So, why knowledge? It's because Ignorance, certainly is very costly. Waste, pain and destruction are very common and familiar with the ignorant. It's the very reason why satan uses secrecy and ignorance of the believers to keep them in bo***ge. Judas betrayed Jesus because of some degree of blindness and ignorance he experienced; all the killers (including the high priest's team, the Roman official, the crowd, etc) joined forces, zealously shouting Crucify him, Crucify him because some truths eluded them about Jesus. Paul the apostle made it clear to the Corinthian believers that, "None of the rulers of this age recognized and understood this wisdom (about Christ); for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;..." 1 Corinthians 2:8 AMP‬‬
It's, even, for this very reason on the Cross, Jesus could still say, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

So, what is the point? Zeal is like fuel or energy that one needs to take off. However, for zeal to be efficacious, knowledge and understanding is required, to give one the safety one needs at the flight. Without knowledge, ministration or leadership mandate looses the force to affect and infect the required positive change.

In another place Paul the apostle was saddaned by the condition of his people Isarael, he says, "Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God." (Romans 10:1-3) NKJV. So, this mean, no matter you accomplishment, your investment, your labor, your time, etc; if you are not having the correct knowledge, understanding and wisdom, it's mere a wasted investment!!

So, in conclusion, we are commanded and admonished to be zealous as we do our service to the Lord in (Romans 12:11) NIV "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.".
