He was run over by a car 3 days ago. He has been on the road since then.

The reporter could just send the photos and couldn’t help with transportation or a drop off.

Again we felt so helpless knowing our ambulance isn’t functional.

We were able to rescue him an hour ago and loaded him in a rented vehicle.

If we had not arranged this, he wouldve been on the road still, with broken legs, unable to look for food, and wounds on his legs due to dragging his body on the roads.

NEW DOGGIE OF THE SHELTER: THE ONE-EAR ROBBER “LUCKY STAR” .....

Three weeks ago, while a volunteer was walking home after shopping for dinner, a dog suddenly appeared in front of her, trying to grab from her the plastic bag containing pork. But he was not strong enough to do so, and only managed to make a bite on the bag. Seeing that he was so hungry, he was given biscuits, and he devoured everything in seconds.

What alarmed the volunteer most was that the left ear of the dog had disappeared, leaving behind a big hole over the head, with the shaggy base covered by blood and pus. If left untreated, maggots would certainly eat into the wound, and bacterial infection would also set in, with dire consequences. Therefore, the dog was rescued to the seya Animal Rescue Home, and named “Lucky Star”.

Lucky Star was brought to be vet, and found to have severe anemia (hematocrit only 21, compared with normal lowest limit of 35) due to tick fever (Babesia infection), requiring treatment with the very expensive “golden water” medication. How the left ear disappeared remained a mystery – dog fighting? human mutilation? accident? The wound was dirty, with necrotic tissues, requiring surgical cleaning, but surgery had to be delayed until after the anemia resolved.

Back in the Shelter, Lucky Star quickly got settled. We meticulously cleaned his wound three times a day. Miraculously, the wound gradually became smooth and clean, and was becoming smaller and smaller. The latest verdict by the vet is that Lucky Star now longer needs surgery for the wound because it is healing so well. Lucky Star has a good appetite. He is very sweet and good to people. He often wears a smile on his face. He also likes to jump up to the bed to sleep when nobody is there!

(We suspect that Lucky Star became a “robber” because he was too hungry. Being a sick dog, he could not compete with other stray dogs for food.)

DOG BEATEN SUFFERS SEVERE INJURIES – PLEASE HELP 🆘🆘🆘

Lost for words is how I can only describe the suffering that this poor dog has gone through at the hands of “humans”.

I am shocked at the condition of this dog and frankly astonished that he is even alive.

We were made aware of this dog who was found on the streets of kamwokya Uganda a few days ago unable to move, bleeding and literally dying so we knew we had to help.

He was barely conscious and you could see that he was distressed and was lying in a pool of blood.

When I started this rescue, I really never knew the level of pain I would see and this case is again extremely horrific, and again my heart is broken.

We had him moved to our partner Badru - seya Animal Rescue Home& Rehabilitation and then was rushed to the hospital where he has been for the past few days.

I did not want to post him sooner because I did not think he would even survive the night.

His injuries are extensive and he has a broken upper and lower jaw and his tongue is severed. We had no choice but to do an emergency surgery on him to get a feeding tube inserted and his lower jaw wired.

Without the use of his jaw, he was unable to even take in fluids or food so he would have starved to death if not given a feeding tube.

It was a heart stopping day waiting to see if he would make it through the surgery and we are so relieved that he did.

He is now resting comfortably and is on IV fluids, pain killers, anti-inflammatory, vitamins and supplements.

So here is the part that makes me angry. At first we thought he was possibly hit by a car, but because the injuries are localized to the face and head area, the vets believe he was beaten.

I literally want to hurt someone for what they did to him.

We named him oyoo because we wanted to name him after Sir oyoo who was known as the “Perfect King of tororo” – perfect in courage, gentleness, courtesy, and chivalry.

He was considered the bravest of the King ” and that is who he represents. Oyoo will be in hospital for a very long time and we are again asking for help with his vetting, hospitalization and medication.

We are not sure exactly how much this will cost us as he will need an additional surgery to wire the upper jaw. I know I call on you often, but I have no choice because we are all these dogs have. Please help.

HELP NEEDED PLEASE,PLEASE

Well sadly it’s not good news for conte who as you know was found on the streets of Kampala Uganda with a massive wound on her head caused by a cancerous tumor.

The cancer was caused by TVT which had spread to her face. Conte started her chemotherapy yesterday and upon further examination the vet believes that the cancer has now spread to her internal organs, in particular her liver and lungs.

She will be put on fluid therapy, plus vitamins and neurotonics to improve her overall condition.

She will also be placed on a systematic antibiotic to prevent secondary bacterial infection for the wounds caused by the tumors. In addition she will need a daily Injection of Ornipural to improve her liver function.

Obviously we are all very saddened by this news and we are going to do all we can to keep her comfortable but we know her time with us will not be long.

I know many will say to euthanize and will let the vets decided on that so please bare with me. We are just grateful to the team from BADRU "Seya animal Rescue home" for trying to do what they can for this beautiful girl.

If only we would have got her before the TVT spread but that was just not the case.Please continue to send your positive thoughts and love for her and if anyone could.

HELP NEEDED FOR DONKEY BURNED IN FIRE

As you know I have a special place in my heart for donkeys because they are worked to death in some of these countries and when they can work no more they get left where they collapse. We have a number of donkeys and horses that we support in Uganda at the sanctuary run by "The Uganda walrd Society For Defending Animal Rights".

They take in the most horiffic cases and they have another one that they need help with.

This is MABROUK which means blessed. He suffered severe burns after surviving a fire which killed all of the other donkeys and horses that were staying in the barn.

What is even more harder to understand is that this poor donkey was not important enough to be given help and he suffered for two weeks with no medical aid.

Can you believe that? He worked hard for his owner and then when he needed help he was just not even given a second thought.

I cannot imagine the pain he would have been in and in my eyes this donkey is a hero. As I write this I am crying because its just not right Thankfully, he was surrendered to the sanctuary and they called me to see if we could help with his burn care.

His treatment will take a very long time and we need a lot of medicines and burn care material.

We have to purchase more silkoplast which is wrapped around him for fluid and temperature regulation and acts as a protective barrier against bacteria and viruses as well as getting more Finadyne solution, Betadine, and Excede which is an antibiotic especially for horses and donkeys.

Mabrouk is also receiving vitamin injections. For anyone that deals with donkeys and horses, you know how expensive this is.

We are so heartbroken at the condition of this beautiful boy and we are again asking for help with his care.

Just looking at him you can see that he has been through a harsh life already and he is only 4 years old. Please if anyone could help with his care we appreciate it.

We are hoping to get at least $5,700 for the next months treatment. Thank you in advance.

THIS is real sad 😟 😟but I must say that this lovely boy has been living in the streets for such a long time.
Mistreated by so many in the streets he was so confused he didn't understand whats going on!

Why some people scared of him and he doesn't bite and why some people want to take him!
And ofcourse we know why!!

He kept on searching for a good place to hide because when he started having manag problems.

people mistreated him bad.
He felt more sad and pain because he couldn't understand why ?!

Until he meet someone so he sticked to her all the time and slept with her in the streets!!

When our rescue team went to help him thats what they saw the dog sleeping next to the lady in the streets!!

we offered her a job in the shelter to be with the dog since he loved her ,But unfortunately she refused and asked for money so that we took him immediately and knew that this dog wasn't getting true love😔

I'm sure he will have an amazing life and he will be loved by so many and we are all here for you gorgeous.

His going today to the vet and will update you later

I am thankful to all of the street rescuers, animal advocates, shelter workers, transporters, vets, fosters, boarding facilities and rescue partners.

I am also thankful to every single dog, cat, rabbits, horse, monkeys, donkey, fox and any other animal who despite all that is done to them continue to give unconditional love and who fight every day to survive and do it with a wag of the tail.

HELP NEEDED FOR KING 🆘

Who will help us with our new case? This is king who was rescued from the streets of Kampala Uganda with a rope embedded in his neck.The rope had cut so deeply it caused not only his neck to become infected but also for his head to swell up.

He was just wandering around the streets barely able to lift his head, unable to eat or drink so you know this is very painful.Sadly, people tie rope or wire around their necks when they are puppies and as the dogs get older and bigger the rope just gets stuck in their neck.

For it to be this bad, he would have been like this for a long time. Eventually what would happen is he would have succumb to infection, starvation or respiratory distress.

Thankfully after our partner Badru "seya animals Rescue Home' were made aware of him and contacted me to see if we could help him.

I knew that he would not last much longer out there so we sent a team to find him and bring him to the shelter.

King immediately had to have the rope removed and his wounds cleaned and dressed.

He was given pain medication as well as antibiotics and anti inflamatory medication which is critical as we need to get the swelling down.

We are not sure at this stage if we will need to do surgery to close up the neck wound and possibly have fluid drained from his face.

We have found though in cases like this that we need the anti inflamatory medication to work so we will continue to monitor his progress over the next couple of weeks.

According to the team this boy is so incredibly friendly and loving and is great with humans and other dogs including puppies.

What is even more special is that he has taken a shine to Mimi our mother dog so its like they know when support is needed.

We are looking for help with his medication and daily treatment and food as well as vaccinations of addition of $5020 per month.

We will need additional help to get blood work done and if he needs to have surgery, but if we can at least get enough for his initial care we would appreciate it.

King is such a brave boy and he was named after the famous King of Buganda Roland muwend mutebi II
who led a sled team to deliver much needed medicine, so he is strong, but he needs us.

We absolutely love this boy Twitter who was found on the streets of Kampala Uganda, broken and defeated.

He was completely covered in mange and his skin was red raw and he was so weak he could barely stand. We got Twitter at the start of April and he is already improving but still has a long way to go.

Mange takes a long time and he continues to take his medication as well as getting his medicated baths. Twitter also was diagnosed with blood parasites and he is nearing the end of his antibiotics for that.

The other day we took him to the vets and had X-Rays done and it showed that he has a broken leg that has fused and healed incorrectly because it was left untreated. There is not much we can do to repair it, so we are most likely going to have to amputate it but that wont be until he is stronger.

Obviously we do not take amputations lightly so we will continue to monitor and will update you all but currently walking is difficult for him so it will be better for him.

Twitter is such a sweetheart and just so lovely to everyone. How could you not love this boy, I mean look at his face!, his eyes! Aren’t they soulful? Thank you to everyone who has supported him so far and if you would like to continue helping with his ongoing care we would appreciate it.

PUPPY BEATEN SUFFERS BROKEN NOSE & JAW

As we reflect on the 2/04 /2022we spend time with our family and loved ones, we are still working hard to help the many abused and neglected street dogs around the world. We have another bad case which we need help with as our medical expenses are sky rocketing.

This is Whatspp who is a one-year-old puppy found on the streets of Kampala Uganda with a very large open wound on his face. At first our partner rescue from HOPE - seya Animal Rescue Home & Rehabilitation thought his injuries was confined to the wound, but upon X-Ray it was discovered that he had a broken nose AND a broken upper jaw.

His injuries were a result of being beaten and his wound was actually a bacterial infection caused by his original wound not being treated.

We think that this poor boy had been suffering for a awhile and thankfully he was rescued in time. We have Valor admitted in the hospital and he will stay there for at least another 3 weeks.

His face is cleaned and dressed daily with antiseptic sprays and creams and he is also on anti-inflammatory and Imipenem Cilastatin (Tienam) which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic specifcally used in the treatment of serious infections that are resistant to first-line antibiotics.

Whatspp will be having surgery in 10 days to repair his broken jaw and nose and at that time complete his neutering once he is strong enough.

We are asking for help with his medical boarding, medication and surgery. We have attached the bill which is approximately $6,700 USD if anyone could help us cover that plus some food.

We absolutely love this boy and his name means "great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle".

This is so true as this boy had to fight for his life as he was being beaten by someone who just did not value his existence and who got pleasure in hurting an innocent animal. Thank you all and stay strong Valor.

This gorgeous girl was found as a stray in Cyprus, trying to survive on the streets alone. She was rescued by someone who was visiting and who was feeding her whilst there, but just couldn’t leave her behind. So they have organised her blood testing, vaccinations, boarding, neutering etc so she can find a wonderful home in the UK. You can see by the last picture just how skinny she was 🥺.

She’s a very affectionate girl, who will thrive being loved and looked after. It only took a few days of being fed every day for her to trust her rescuer.

Kona’s blood test was negative for Leishmaniasis, but positive for Ehrlichia and Anaplasma both are curable with antibiotics. So she’s on a 6 week course of antibiotics which will get her well again. Other than these tick borne diseases she’s very healthy. She will come vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, with her own Pet Passport and all necessary import and export paperwork.

PLEASE HELP US! WE ARE IN TROUBLE!! 😩

I really wanted to do a post with fancy artwork and catchy text to try and get our vets bill cleared for Christmas. We just got our charity status and that means we can try and get more funds and clear our bills every end of month, making paperwork and accounting way easier to keep up with.

Unfortunately, we have now reached situation critical and have a whopping bill of $200k at Pets Central!!! We can’t afford to help a single dog right now and that terrifies me, as there is always a sick dog or pup in trouble. Usually when I post asking for funds (my least favourite thing to do for seya Animal Rescue Home we get about half cleared but then more dogs come in - and we are back in the crazy debt again.

I’m stressed to death about this bill and have paid some today myself (only $5k as it’s all I can manage right now) to cover a dog that was found in my village having an X-ray. We are in trouble, really in trouble.

If anyone can help PLEASE do! We are getting more and more successful homing dogs, raising awareness and just getting charity status was such a tremendous achievement. We can’t shut down now, but that’s where my head is at as I’m being chased to pay this huge bill and - yes, it’s too much. 😩
