The watering hole promises awesome moments with wildlife. Lose yourself in the embrace of wild places.
The Kob is the true representation of the abundant wildlife for destination Uganda. Unlike other types of antelopes, the males use a softer ‘human’ approach towards ‘courting females.’ The male will not force the female to become part of his herd during and after mating, rather he ‘convinces’ her to stay by making soft noises and whistling through the nostrils. This sound resounds across the entire breeding area.
Did you know that buffalo births typically occur during the rainy season when abundant grass improves the nutritional level for females when they are pregnant or nursing.
Our primate friends face the same uphill task of raising a family. We share so with primates and the wider wildlife that conservation should be everyone’s mission. A closer encounter with chimpanzees in Kibale National park will convert even the most cynical. Make it a point to reconnect with the wild.
There is always something to surprise when you step into the wild.
Ugandans must be the happiest in the world! Whether it’s about the weather or lush beauty of the land, here smiles are in plenty.
Rising early to make images of birds is becoming my favorite pastime. Uganda is blessed with over half of all bird species in Africa, making it one of the richest birding destinations on the continent.
Greetings from your cousin. When you spend time with chimpanzees in their natural habitant , and realize how human-like they are in their daily hassle; the need to preserve and conserve for generations to come becomes ever more urgent.
We know that feeling…
It’s never a dull moment spending time with wild nature. That connection with nature has therapeutic powers, to revive one from the toxic city spaces.
Here is Semuliki male hot spring. Legend has it that a revered kingdom hunter disappeared from this spot while chasing prey. It is said that his insatiable appetite for caught the attention of the underworld when he speared the underworld’s beloved antelope. A trap was laid that sucked in the hunter and his wife who disappeared at the spot nearby, named as the female hot spring.
The fury of the endless fight for freedom in the belly of the earth is said to be what spews the boiling water from beneath.
