STEP BY STEP club
Hello! I’m Ana and I am a Family Child Care Provider @ Dyess. Join the fun!
Happy teachers day to all the parents, school teachers, daycare providers and anyone helping mold the bright minds of the future❤️
I see you, I am you and I look up to you!
Keep doing a great job ❤️
Did you know that FCC providers will organize meet ups for play dates for the children enrolled?
Accessing and being part of the community is very important and the children enjoy socializing with other groups of children under the safe supervision of the providers of course.
We will, when possible, organize trips to the library, to the splash pad on base or to the many playgrounds Dyess AFB has available for us.
Say hi if you see us outside 👋🏼
Daycare highlights🥰
We went from learning what is an “emotion”, to identifying it on a visual level, to using the name for it, to now being able to write them down and explain them 😭❤️such a full circle moment.
Highlights of this week.
Children enjoyed spending more time outside now that the weather allows it ❤️🏠
Reading and writing
One of the biggest goals in my program is cultivating an inviting environment where children learn the art of being kind.
Seeing them help one another without having me ask them to do it means the world to me and proves that we’re on the right track!❤️
I’ve heard of Montessori toys or schools, but in reality Montessori is a way of life and at its core is allowing the children freedom to learn at their own pace and do things for themselves.
Such a great read and it’s on Amazon!
Daycare update
The flowers we planted with the children are now in full bloom. The children get to witness a full life cycle for flowers 💐
We’re practicing fine mottor skills and learning about the states❤️
Hope everyone has a great Monday!
Gathering local wild flowers for activities ❤️
Felt boards are such a fun way of organizing an activity.
Whether it’s animals, shapes, body charts or a daily calendar it’s such a fun and interactive way for the children to learn.
Life lately
We planted flowers with the children ❤️
Spending more time outside as the weather allows it😍
Happy Easter weekend to everyone celebrating.
Children enjoyed a small Easter egg hunt and lots of arts and crafts 🐰
To cherish and protect nature children must spend time outside exploring it❤️
We’re learning how to be gentle to all creatures small and big❤️✨
Happy early St Patrick’s Day for those celebrating! 🍀
Wish you could see the big happy smiles🥹❤️
No such thing as bad weather!
If the weather allows we do activities and learn outside in the sunshine and fresh air❤️❤️the children love it and focus even better !
Today we let our imagination lead the way with playdough and built many fun things.
The sun is up and we’re outside to play! Enjoying the warmth ☀️
Happy Friday !
Family style dining
Why is it important? In my opinion involving the children in their daily activities even as far as cooking or prepping encourages children to try new food or get excited for meal time.
I’ve added this step by step cooking book for toddlers to our daily routine and the children have been loving it.
They also help set up the table and clean up after each meal.
❤️
Fun in the sun!
Summer in February ☀️
While the littles nap the preschoolers do their homeschooling exercises
She is 4 and can recognize and write both letters and numbers ❤️
Making Valentine’s Day cards and flowers 🌺
Catering to different age groups at once can have its challenges at times but it mirrors a real life situation where you won’t always be surrounded by people your own age.
It teaches patience and empathy and an understanding for expectations of different ages.
With good organization and an exciting activity plan all can learn and thrive side by side.
And while the children learn so do I as a provider, reasearching new methods and techniques.
To be a parent is such an honor but comes with a great responsibility.
We model everything by how we behave firstly, before we get to tell them how to be we must become it ourselves.
You’ll never go wrong if you lead with love and kindness ❤️
Activities that include multiple aspects of play are best:
Fine motor skills
Sorting
Distinguishing between small and big
Identifying colors
Counting the balls as we sort
And reading a book with colors to encourage children what color balls to look for next.
