Just an FYI…. Needle Brothers Landscaping will be working on installing the brick walkway tomorrow in case anyone has the playground planned for the 1/2 day. Abington Fence may be there also working on installing the fence too! The playground will still be opened to play on, but please try to give them space so they can work their magic. Thank you!

Spring has sprung and we are diligently working on finishing up Phase 2 of our rebuild with a tentative ribbon cutting scheduled for June 10th. Who’s around this evening, at 6:30?
Why? the Abington Board of Selectmen and the Town Manager will be discussing with townspeople at large possible future plans for the vacant land on the right side of Gliniewicz next to the property of the high school and across from the Senior housing. Possible uses that they will consider:
Housing, (Habitat for Humanity) open space. Recreation.

The basketball courts at the police station will need to be moved once the future fire station moves to the area of the police station, DPW. Plus there may be other future needs like a skate park, sand volleyball, pickleball courts for those under 50 etc.
once something is built on that property there can no future use for recreation.
We need help supporting recreation.

It was so much fun to unveil the time capsules at our Fundraiser last weekend. Contents of the Time Capsules will be held at the Dyer Library. Stay tuned for your opportunity to participate in burying a new Time Capsule when Phase 2 of the rebuild is complete next spring.

This weeks update!
Things are moving right along! Things are getting set for rubber surfacing to be completed next week. We know it all looks amazing and is so exciting, but we’d love for people to stay off of the playground until the surfacing is completed so the company does not have to redo things when they come back next week.
