NEW - An accumulation of grease in a sewer line in Acworth caused a sewage spill near a creek that flows into Lake Acworth. This has prompted a request to close lake access until testing is completed. The blockage was quickly cleared, but out of an abundance of caution, a request was made to limit access to the lake.
The Cobb Water System urges customers to adjust their habits to limit grease, oils, and fats going into the system. https://www.cobbcounty.org/water/education/water-quality/home/fog?utm_campaign=Main+website+Page&utm_content=1723847793&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook
Test results are expected on Sunday. For the latest, visit https://www.cobbcounty.org/communications/news/sewage-spill-causes-request-close-access-lake-acworth-testing?utm_campaign=Communications+News&utm_content=1723847793&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook
