Our Story

WHAT DOES KAULUKOA MEAN?

Literally, Ka equals “the”. Ulu is to grow or spread. And koa is a soldier, warrior, or courage.

When seeking a name, we were looking for a way to describe the process by which a warrior or soldier would mature. A way to describe the experience and knowledge gained when a warrior or soldier prepared for, went into, and returned from battle.

When we consulted someone that is familiar with the Hawaiian language, KAULUKOA was suggested and our name was born.

Want to play in college? Roughly 90% of the athletes that graduate from our program goes on to play at the next level. This also holds true for athletes that played for us for more than 2 years but finished with other clubs. See our list of College Commitments below.

Want to make varsity and have an impact? Check our stats below. Members have made nearly 60 appearances in the HHSAA Championship Finals. Members have also been honored as OIA, ILH, and HHSAA Player of the Year.

Want your child to learn life skills through their athletic experience? They will. We’re going to help them develop confidence, composure, conflict resolution skills, sportsmanship, perseverance, problem solving and leadership skills, and character among other critical attributes that will serve them throughout life.

We’re also an organization that is highly structured and transparent. We take all the guesswork out of the club experience. You’re going to know how much the season will cost, where you’re traveling, how many times you’re traveling, and what the expectations are. The only challenge is scheduling. We try to lock down practice and tournament times locally but time and space are limited and both of them are always subject to change (unfortunately).

Finally, like your child, we’re constantly trying to improve. We’re not perfect but we’re giving an honest effort to deliver an experience that’s going to have a lasting and positive impact on your child.
