OUR BELIEFS & PRINCIPLES

We are a metaphysical Christian church. We look beyond literal interpretations of the Bible and find deeper meaning applicable to our lives today. Jesus taught that the kingdom of heaven is within you and that faith is a power you can use to accomplish great things. This is a universal message also found in spiritual teachings around the world. Jesus gave only two rules to live by: a) Love God with all your heart, b) love your neighbor as yourself.

1-God is the creative love-intelligence that governs the universe. It is the source and substance of all. Ultimately, God cannot be fully described. But we can relate to It very personally and intimately.

2-Every person is an individualized expression of God made in Its image and likeness. This is the meaning of being children of God. No one is left out.

3-As individualized expressions of the Divine Creative Power, we also have creative power to shape our lives in ways that matter to us. It all starts in the mind. Whatever thoughts we sow in mind, eventually grow into the experiences we have.

4-We are in a continual state of growth. Our job is to be an outlet through which the Divine can express Itself. It is the duty of each person to discover what gifts and talents lie within and exercise them to be a beneficial presence on Earth. OUR VALUES

1. Kindness - Demonstrating understanding, compassion, reciprocity, and sharing.
2. Integrity - Living what we believe. Keeping our word.
3. Inclusiveness - Embracing all people. We are one in God.
4. Simplicity - Keeping things simple and clear.
5. Humanitarianism - Acting for the welfare of our fellow human beings.
6. Environmentalism - Having a positive impact on the environment.
7. Inspiration - Being Spirit led. Acting from internal Divine guidance. OUR PRACTICES

1. Prayer - We pray affirmatively to declare the good we wish to have.
2. Meditation - Meditation clears the mind to hear God’s voice within.
3. Self-Inquiry - We examine our negative thoughts to gain mental freedom.
4. Service - We put our faith into action to expand the good in the world.

The attitude of prayer is one of faith. It is the confidence of knowing that what we declare in prayer is a sure thing. We pray until we have a clear sense that what we have prayed about is done.

“Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:23-25)

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
