We're busy getting ready for this year's SRNL Research SLAM, where science meets showtime! Eight young and brilliant SRNL researchers are getting ready to take the stage on August 14 at the Aiken Community Theatre with easy-to-understand, three-minute presentations about their research and why it’s important.
This year, the event is open to the community to join in on the fun and learn about the amazing science SRNL does and why it's so important. A panel of judges will choose the first and second place awards, but the audience will choose a third people’s choice award.
And here's the best part: it’s free!

A Mission to Educate
The work of Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness is marked by the mission of educating the public about the value of nuclear technology. The organization is a place for the community of nuclear scientists and those who support nuclear technology to work together to raise awareness for the applications of nuclear technology. CNTA sponsors events, supports students through scholarships and teacher grants, and informs the public by hosting events and attending meetings.
Founded in 1991, CNTA was formed as a non-profit, grassroots citizen's organization. Our members are from all walks of life, concerned about the vitality of our community and dedicated to improving public knowledge on the real benefits and comparative risks of nuclear activities. Nuclear energy provides 20% of our nation's electricity safely and reliably. Unfortunately, many Americans today do not realize the many positive advantages of nuclear energy - which is one reason CNTA was created. CNTA is the voice of that silent majority - pro-nuclear and pro-Savannah River Site supporters who both recognize the benefits of technology and who believe there is a need to provide factual information to the public. Our information activities are designed to increase public knowledge and understanding on all things nuclear. Join today and get the answers to the questions of how nuclear energy solves our current energy needs!
