Rhythm and Roots Farm
Rhythm & Roots is our home, located in Akron Ohio. We have changed our lifestyles to pursue the rais
Boneless thighs and chicken breast back in stock, as well as chorizo sausage!
My weekly chore since meat chickens are back in the rounds. Keeps my back muscle working 💪
Our middle batch of chickens! One more to go - they are always starving 😅.
Black Cherry tree - our kids love gathering the tiny fruits, although I can't see the point HA.
Here is a photo from a long time ago, probably the first year we moved in. Our little boys!
A w**d for sure, but the kids like it since it reminds them of Violets
Hope your weekend will be as fun as our kids have in the mud this time of year (but not as stressful as it is to get the mud out LOL).
Tulips in bloom everywhere, so grateful to the squirrels for letting us have them
We had a young Canada goose live with our ducks a few years back, and we are thinking she returned with a mate! The kids were overjoyed to see "Winnie" again...if it was a girl 🤣.
Our poor cats endure a lot of "love".
Finally getting all that mud covered with hay, hopefully patch up our poor field! So happy for spring.
Lots of warmer weather finally - enjoying the outdoors again.
Got to see the eclipse on the farm! Was a perfect warm day for it.
I actually baked something pretty - with our eggs as a glaze of course. I cannot keep a sourdough starter alive more than a week, but my husband can 🤪.
Had some fun with egg decorating this past weekend - the brown ones looked like wooden eggs!
Happy Easter!
The kids favorite climbing tree. Or is it a bush? Taking all guesses!
Lots of green things coming up, despite my terrible gardening skills. Tulips soon I hope!
We just got in a order of boneless thighs! We are hoping this sells better than bone-in thighs, but maybe you can decide =).
Did you know we deliver through Market Wagon? You can order online, and they deliver weekly on Thursdays. You can always order from us =) OR other vendors. They are an awesome site, selling only items made/produced in NE Ohio.
Lots of hams available for Easter this year - both Mangalitsa and Heritage pork. They were amazing last year, high hopes for this Easter again!
Possibly a car ad for our truck, or an ad for orange tabbies? Not sure which, but Kiston is a born model!
What our lazy farm dog does all winter...😅
Lots of beef back in stock - check out the website and get yours before our steaks sell out. They always seem to quickly!
While the brief spring was very pleasant for us to enjoy, I am glad for the frost back off and on and the wrapping up of winter. Keeps the mud down and bugs dead 🤣
Haven't posted in a week - was a little busy adding our latest addition to the family! Violet Thorn was born Saturday, and is simply a lovely charming baby. We all love her and are captivated.
Addy sweeping the barn with a tiny dustpan is a good way to sum up the occasional feeling of futility when it comes to mud this time of year - endless and with only what feels like very unhelpful tools LOL 🤣.
My friend sent me a photo of her gorgeous whole chicken she made - I can NOT cook whole chicken well, but apparently it's me not the chicken despite what I think 🤣😅.
Just working on teamwork, right before it snowed recently.
Bacon from our Mangalitsa pigs - perfect for frying up or (as we are doing for dinner) Carbonara!
