Pedestrian Safety Reminders
Alamosa, CO – As the weather starts to warm up and pedestrian activity around town starts to increase, we would like to remind drivers to be aware of their surroundings and to watch for pedestrians. We all want a vibrant community with residents walking around enjoying neighborhoods!
Here are some simple tips to keep in mind while driving.
Follow crosswalk rules: You should always yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk, even if a crossing guard or signal is not present. Reduce your speed and be prepared to stop when approaching a crosswalk, and remember to leave enough room in the crosswalk for pedestrians to walk outside of the flow of traffic. Always stop for a crossing guard. Never attempt to go around other vehicles stopped at a crosswalk. Never block a crosswalk.
Respect pedestrian rights at unmarked intersections: Even at unmarked intersections (intersections without crosswalks), pedestrians have the right of way. That means as a motorist, if you see a pedestrian waiting to cross at a corner, you should stop and allow the pedestrian to cross. This might feel strange if there are no stop signs and/or crosswalks, but it is the law!
Have an attitude of pedestrian responsibility: Everyone is responsible for pedestrian safety, not just pedestrians themselves. As a driver, it’s your job to watch out for pedestrians and do your best to avoid accidents.
Always give pedestrians the right of way: Although pedestrians are responsible to obey traffic control devices, they may not always do so. They may walk on a “Don’t Walk” sign, jaywalk, dart out in traffic, or surprise you in other ways. But even when pedestrians aren’t following the rules, it’s your responsibility to yield right of way and let a pedestrian pass.
Look before you turn: Pedestrians aren’t just right in front of you while you’re going straight. They may be in the crosswalk as you’re turning, too. When you’re getting ready to make a turn, always look ahead to see if there’s a pedestrian crossing or preparing to cross.
Follow traffic signs and signals: There are several pedestrian signs and signals drivers need to be aware of and use to yield right of way to pedestrians. Signs indicating to watch for pedestrians, to travel only in one way, stop, or yield should be observed.
Almost time Alamosa
It is time to address what happened with the area 420 up in smoke car show my car show was hated on by somebody from Lowrider magazine who was talking to somebody who had 10% share in my car show he told him that my car show would be the FYRE fest of car shows why?because it’s not held in the Colosseum a Lowrider supershow type event this guy downgraded and belittled my show until one of the coproducers decided to pull the plug saying that were I was trying to scam the car community with a car show that was not worthy of cars worth over $50,000! also, I addressed that I did not want High Valley healing to have anything to do with my car shows the owner is a complete imbecile. She treats all her employees like s**t and she’s a crook and when I addressed that I didn’t want her to have anything to do with my car show that coproducer chuckled about three days later they shut me down.
The owner of area 420 has completely ignored all my calls to explain my side of the story. It makes no sense. The guy who was responsible for shutting down my show only have 10% has never done. A car show has no experience with any of it at all, he was just brainwashed by another individual from Lowrider magazine car show, a complete hater somebody who did not want to see us succeed!
Sorry that this one was not able to go on! Out of my control!

UPDATE seem like they are trying to shut down my car show I’ll know for sure in couple of days!!!!
