As we start off 2024, I've taken some time to reflect. My life has changed a lot... kids off to college, more time to really consider what my next 5, 10, 15 years looks like...? What do I want to be? What do I want to do? I'm not sure... but I know one thing! I know my "WHY"! Why do I get up every day? Why do I work? Why do I strive to be my best? It's simple... this photo is my why! Change...it's hard! In whatever aspect you face it! It can be professional, it can be personal. It can be your choice or it can be forced on you... change is never easy.
I'm struggling with change right now. Professionally and personally. I find comfort in a quote from John Maxwell, "Change is inevitable, growth is optional."
I love that!
I can't stop the things in my life that are changing. I can choose to focus on the positive instead of the negative. I can only control my own actions and reactions. I can say these things and believe them but emotions are harder to control... sadness, fear, anxiety.
I have a wonderful family that I love with all my heart. The biggest change occurring for me right now is personal... my youngest going off to college. I'm excited for her and sad for me. I love being a Mom and miss my kids needing me. But the same way she is now starting her next chapter... I'm also starting my own! It's sad and exciting and scary all rolled into one! I have great supportive family and friends who I know will be there for me through this transition and I will be ok. And it helps to talk to others going through life changes and making decisions about next steps and next chapters. I'm here for anyone who needs to talk... I don't know all the answers but I am confident that I will figure it out as I go!
