A small press dedicated to publishing literary fiction by women. Shade Mountain Press is a brand-new small press, publishing literary fiction by women authors.
I started Shade Mountain Press because women writers are still vastly underrepresented among authors whose books are published, whose works get reviewed, who win literary awards, etc. This is my small effort toward improving those dismal statistics. I’m especially interested in publishing work by women of color, women of working-class origin, and lesbian/bisexual/queer women.
