Hornswoggled.

Every sound in the world has to compete with what my brain is making up. It hurts sometimes, and it definitely makes it hard to understand what some people are saying. It CERTAINLY makes it very overwhelming to be in loud environments.

Some day I’ll identify by my joy instead of my occupation.

“Ugh, I hate it when my client says…” There are definitely some lines we hear constantly in massage. But rather than get annoyed that they said it, maybe we can listen to what they mean? Massage therapy is a compassionate therapy while being effective. The secret is the intimacy and vulnerability of the work being done. There is an incredible amount of trust being given by the client. So are they the worst you’ve ever seen? Ha, far from. But do they need someone to agree that their pain is legitimate? Absolutely. Do they need a sort of “permission” to feel as bad as they do? Sometimes. Are they just THAT competitive that they have to set the bar for everything? Maybe. But what is all boils down to is: Please validate my pain.
