Plum Crazy Fitness For GOD
Just a man trying to glorify God with all my heart, all my mind, all my soul, and all of my STRENGTH!
Started the day with walking the dog for 3500 steps. I then did some presses and curls. Then I did a Bible study on Leviticus 9. It really started the day on the right foot. I pray and hope each of you have a blessed day where you have a chance to share your faith with others.
Godspeed my friends,

Alright. It has been several days since I logged an update. I worked out last week on Monday. Then traveled home on Tuesday. I came back to Alabama on Thursday for my hernia surgery on Friday. So no working out for the next 2 weeks. I look forward to getting back to the gym. Stay after your own goals. Set backs are only a test.

Good morning brothers and sisters. He is risen. He is risen indeed. Back to the gym on this first day of April. 28 min on the elliptical and my physical therapy exercises. Remember to track your progress. It is the only way to know you are doing more and progressing. Keep pressing in close to Jesus. I love you all.

Last couple of weeks, I have hit the gym pretty hard. I am still doing physical therapy for my rotor cuff (shoulder), but I am able to do some weight lifting and increased my time on the eliptical machine from 10 minutes to 20 minutes. I am curling 15 pounds in each hand. 50 crunches on the swiss ball, along with leg lifts and flutter kicks. My strength is slowly getting there. I have started back into Taekwondo as well. The point of all this is just get back in there and do your best. Listen to your body, but try to make gains.

Started hitting the gym again this week. 10 weeks of recovery and rehab for my rotator cuff. Scale in my camper says I am 260+ but the scale in the gym says I am 245????? I am very confused. I don’t trust either of them. I think I will pull out the tape measure. 😀
Godspeed my friends.

I am free of the sling from my rotator cuff surgery. And while waiting for my appointment a nice lady coined me. What a blessing.
Godspeed my friends.
Eric “PlumCrazy”
Hey there everyone, that tunes into my Fitness for GOD page. So, I had surgery on my left shoulder for my rotator cuff. I am in week 8 of recovery and doing well. The scraped some bone spurs, used anchors and thread to pull my shoulder into place, and then stitched my muscle back together. Physical therapy is going well and my mobility is slowly coming back. I am really looking forward to working out again and practicing TaeKwonDo with the family. Remember, if you have to have surgery, do what the Doc tells you and be patient. The body is amazing and correct itself if you allow it to do what God created it to do.
Have a blessed day.
Godspeed,
Eric "PlumCrazy" Hopkins
Hey there everyone.
So, I have shoulder surgery coming up mid-December. However, I am still able to work out a little bit before I get my shoulder fixed. One of the things I like to do takes about 15 minutes. It is a nice break in the day and really could be done anywhere.
I utilize a set of hand-weights. I am using 20-30lbs weights. Use what is comfortable but work for you.
1) 10 Arnold Bi-Cep curls each arm. That you lift the weight up and twist your wrist and squeeze at the top.
2) 10 Bench Presses with the same weight.
3) 10 Butterflies. That where you open up the chest.
4) 10 Standing Rows. Bend at the waist to form a 45-degree angle. Be careful to stabilize the waist and hold a good form. Squeeze those shoulder blades together.
Do 3 sets of this routine. (Start with a heavier weight for more of a challenge and drop the weight as needed.)
I feel my chest, arms, and back starting to firm up. I am hoping this work will help with my recovery after surgery.
Godspeed my friends.
Sorry no pictures.

It was almost a year ago since I posted. Alot of changes have happened since then. I have surgery scheduled mid-December for my shoulder. So this will push my posts into next year. I am looking forward to talking about my current activities and my future workout routines.
Godspeed my friends. Continue to love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.
Week 7- Day 1: LIIFT4
Apparently, me working out wore out the puppy. Vest and back today. No HIIT, but definitely still sweating. Joel changed it up for the last 2 weeks. Time to press through and finish strong. Then time to do something else. Any suggestions from Beachbody on Demand?
Paul, the apostle, tells us to finish the race. Remember we are in a marathon, not a sprint. Consistency pays dividends. Changing your culture takes time. Just stick with it.

Week 6- Day 4: LIIFT4
My buddy is back and why is he so tired? I just completed week 6 with leg day. No weights today. All High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). I am smoked. It’s been a great week. Glory to God.
I pray you have a wonderful weekend. Remember to worship our Heavenly Father with all your mind, heart, soul, and strength.

Week 6- Day 3: LIIFT4
Lights are up at the house. Jesus is in the center spotlight. I got shoulders done this morning. Thank goodness it was swift and done. I slept terribly last night and am feeling it this morning. Moved from the bed to sleeping on the floor. I think it helps stretch out my spine.
So especially when we are presented with opportunities to serve our Heavenly Father, I find the enemy tries to remind us that we are too old, too broken, too weak, and unsuitable. That is an indicator to me that God has more, and it is time for a step of faith. So be encouraged my friends. The Lord is moving, sometimes we just don’t see it.

Week 6:Day 2- LIIFT4
Back and Bis smoked me this morning. I did get up early because I had a lot on my mind. I am not one that struggles to fall asleep, but when I wake up in the middle of the night, I cannot fall back asleep.
I turn my eyes into the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of Heaven and Earth.
Have a wonderful morning.

Week 6-Day 1: LIIFT4
I am finally getting after the last couple of weeks of this workout. Excuses after excuses, I am back. I brought along my little dog too.
Remember we will fail, but our Heavenly Father is always there to pick us up, dust us off, and tell us to continue to follow Jesus.
May the Holy Spirit fill you guide you this day.

Week 6- Day 1: LIIFT4
If you are paying attention, you realized I am restarting week 6. There was an interruption a couple of weeks ago so I am rebooting week 6 to move towards 7&8. Life throws us distractions, so we need to keep our eye on the prize. When you stay focused on Jesus, the Holy Spirit can guide you to where you need to be.
