This Lyft Driver is not a hero. He's just a normal guy fighting racism right here in the valley.
You can do the same. Stand up for your neighbors.
Thank you, James Bode.

“I appreciate it, truly,” Bode wrote. “But this is the way it should be everywhere, every time. I shouldn’t be “the guy” who did it or said it…we should all be that person. Speak up if you’re uncomfortable with it because it makes them uncomfortable, as they should be.”

The criminalization of ma*****na/cannabis products has disproportionately affected communities and people of color for decades. Numerous studies have been conducted on the inequity of ma*****na laws and inequitable sentencing that target Blacks and Hispanics, further criminalizing and targeting racial minorities and low-income communities. Cannabis reform is a criminal justice issue that would dramatically empower communities that have been decimated and most affected. As the nation moves towards legalization, as some enlightened states already have, we envision a system in which the economic opportunities are equitably distributed towards the communities that have been most affected by the war on drugs.
BIPOC folks are still targeted for w**d more than any other group.
We all deserve to celebrate 4/20.
Ma*****na Arrests by the Numbers According to the ACLU’s original analysis, ma*****na arrests now account for over half of all drug arrests in the United States. Of the 8.2 million ma*****na arrests between 2001 and 2010, 88% were for simply having ma*****na. Nationwide, the arrest data revealed one consistent trend: significant ...

**Updated Status. We were able to locate an admin to take over this page/BLM group. This page will be continued under new leadership. This new team will definitely be in good hands.

Hey Friends,
I founded this group and subsequently this page back on May 29, 2020. A lot has transpired in these last 2 years that have not only changed the social climate but the political one as well.
You've marched in the streets with us. You prayed for us from near and far. You sent in letters and emails to city and county governments on our behalf, all with the same mission and message: that BLACK LIVES MATTER.
To all of our admins, members, volunteers, and anyone who has ever supported us or had those difficult conversations to change the trajectory of trauma and racism and oppression: JOB WELL DONE.
I am announcing that as of today, I am stepping down from any leadership role or group involvement with Black Lives Matter Lehigh Valley.
I wish nothing but the best to any Individual administrator, team member or volunteer who will carry on the baton for racial justice and activism after my departure.
Any new leadership or BLM Lehigh Valley group will operate of its own accord with no affiliation or membership by me.
It has been an impactful 2 years since I took the helm of this group and it is time for me to move forward with my activism and advocacy in other measures and manners.
Continue the fight. Continue the activism. Continue having those difficult conversations. Continue standing up for black people and marginalized communities. Just continue...
I appreciate each and every one of you.
