Allentown Fire Honor Guard

Honor Guard trailer ready for response.

We would like to thank the Training Academy and Fire Administration for passing on the old academy trailer to the Honor Guard. Over time we will be fixing up the inside to accomodate all our equipment. The outside will eventually get some decals/lettering.

This trailer will be a huge asset for us to transport our equipment to events in and out of the city. We will post progress pics during our reconfiguration.

Love seeing the team making progress and moving forward.

And yes…..that is a casket. We use it to train our members on casket watch procedures and proper ways to carry a casket at a funeral service.

Everyone involved came together during and extremely difficult time and honored Derrick for his service.

Color Guard members from Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Scranton, and Wilkes-Barre presented the colors for Allentown Fire Academy's graduation Class 24-01. The members gathered at the venue early to practice prior to the ceremony. It was great to have each department's colors represented.

Congratulations to Class 24-01!! Be safe and serve your respective departments with pride!!!

We were honored when Wyomissing FD contacted us to help with the service for Captain Nester. 3 days of hard work practicing movements and casket carries. All personnel involved did an incredible job for the Captain and his family.

Tonight Washington Camp 446-Patriotic Order Sons of America donated an American and a PA State flag to the Allentown Fire Honor Guard. These flags will be used for our color guard details or for display at events.

We regret to inform on the passing of retired FF Robert Schoedler. Robert started his AFD career 1/13/1969 and retired 1/23/1999 as Driver of E11. Our condolences go out to Robert's family. Obituary below:

Great day at the Allentown St Patrick’s Day Parade. Proud of the job the Color Guard did!!

Come on out to the St Paddy’s Day parade in Allentown this Sunday! Allentown Fire Honor Guard will be marching with the colors. Should be precipitation free for the parade.

Update: The Allentown Parking Authority will begin enforcement/towing at 8am.

The Allentown St. Patrick's Parade and 5k is this weekend! These events will impact traffic.

The 5k will take place Sunday, March 17 at 12:15pm. From 12-2pm, there will be a hard closure and no entry or exit inside the race route will be allowed for safety reasons.

The St. Patrick's Day Parade will take place Sunday, March 17 from 1-4pm. During the parade cars will only be allowed to enter and exit from 22nd & Tilghman. Parking enforcement/towing in the footprint will begin at 8am.
