that the very first Habitat for Humanity volunteer was named Clive Rainey? He began volunteering in 1977 in Americus, Georgia. Clive was a school teacher and told new homeowners to "keep their hammer...you beat poverty with that tool, and with determination, you can beat anything that threatens your right to a simple, decent home."
