City of Alma Police Department

The Alma Police Department is starting to work on our 2021 calendar. Proceeds from the calendar go to our Community Fund, which is used to support local agencies like Head Start and our officers.

Law Enforcement Magnets is the company helping us with the calendar and they will be calling local businesses to see if you would like to place an ad on the calendar. Calendars should be ready by the end of December.

Alma PD Media Release

Chief Andre Brinson of the Alma Police Department announces that on Thursday afternoon, August 13, 2020 at 1314 hours, Drug Investigators were patrolling on Hwy 32 East near East Industrial Blvd when they observed a speeding motorcycle. Drug Investigators attempted to stop the motorcycle, but the driver fled. Drug Investigators along with members of the Crime Suppression Unit, were able to apprehend the driver on Cotton Road. The driver, Mr. Archie Wade, was also a suspect in two other incidents which involved fleeing from police on a motorcycle.

Mr. Archie Wade was charged with the following:
•Speeding
•No tag
•Driving on wrong class license
•Felony fleeing/attempting to elude

Chief Andre Brinson of the Alma Police Department announces that on Sunday night, August 9, 2020 at 2333 hours, Drug Investigators were patrolling near 206 West 17th Street when they made contact with Mr. Bailey Williams.

This encounter led to the discovery of Methamphetamine.

Mr. Williams was charged with the following:
•Possession of Methamphetamine

Chief Andre Brinson of the Alma Police Department announces that on Saturday evening, August 8, 2020 at 1843 hours, Drug Investigators conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by Mr. McKenzie Jenkins.

This traffic stop led to the discovery of a Schedule IV controlled substance after a short foot pursuit.

Mr. Jenkins was charged with the following:
•no tag
•no license
•obstruction
•giving false name
•possession of a Schedule IV narcotics
