We are so excited to introduce our newest partner: Boarding Pass Coffee!

These folks were instrumental in helping us connect with our local community and host our very first art show earlier this summer; and this month, they officially launched a Kenyan roast named “Inua”!

Together, we look forward to lifting up those in Kenya one delicious sip at a time 😄🇰🇪☕️

Last Sunday, Connie and Sammy attended church at JesusChrist Compassion Ministries Int’l - a church in Nairobi with a congregation of 10,000 people!

While there, they were asked to join Bishop Ben on stage, and were promptly given microphones and asked to say a few words.

We are so honored and blessed to have partnered with JCM Ministries on several occasions in the past. Together, we have distributed mobility carts, set up new sewing schools, and have even worked together in the recent disaster response to the floods.

And now, with the opening of the Mobility Worldwide Affiliate Shop and some big projects in the works for 2025, we look to the future with great expectation and thank God for these special partners in ministry.

Did you see the news…? Connie is back in Kenya 🇰🇪

Last week, we made an announcement to our email subscribers that Connie was going back to Kenya for a very special occasion.

During her visit, Connie will be attending the Opening Ceremony for the Partners for Care Mobility Worldwide Affiliate Shop where mobility carts will now be made in-country!

This is a major milestone for us, and we have a goal of producing 1,000 carts to help meet the needs of the 6,000 men, women, and children on a list to receive one.

His smile says it all…

Little 5-year-old Liban was born with a condition that left him unable to walk or stand on his own.

All he’s ever known in life is to be carried around by his mother - completely dependent on her for everything, while having to watch other children his age play and explore without him.

But thanks to our donors, Liban was given his very own mobility cart! Now, he can make friends, play, and explore all on his own, whenever he wants.

When you give to Partners for Care, you don’t just meet the material needs of someone…You give them a sense of independence, belonging and purpose.

Liban may not be able to express all of this as a little 5-year-old boy…But his smile says it all.

We want the people of Kenya to be healthy in mind, body, soul and spirit! That’s why we’re passionate about educating Kenyans on the different aspects of their physical health and well-being.

Within the past week, our medical team has…
✅ Educated men and women about mental health.
✅ Educated women on the causes and prevention of ovarian and cervical cancer.
✅ Visited primary schools to show children the important connection between good health and a great education.

What a blessing to be able to impart such valuable information onto those who are so hungry for it!

In Marsabit, you’ll find communities of nomadic tribes living in the desert of northern Kenya.

They may not have experienced the flooding most of the nation did, but these nomadic communities are among some of the hardest hit, with their humble homes made of mud and sticks unable to withstand the heavy rainfall.

We’ve been on a mission to provide comfort and relief in Marsabit by covering roofs with heavy duty plastic sheets, and distributing essential items like blankets, water backpacks, bednets, and boots.

Thank you to all of our donors who have gone above and beyond in this time of need! Because of you, those who are typically labeled “unreached” find themselves warm, dry, and safe.

The floods in Kenya earlier this month have been devastating to say the least 💔

So many communities have been affected, and in some areas, entire villages have even been displaced.

The Partners for Care team in Kalifi had the opportunity to come alongside 49 of these families whose villages had been completely destroyed by the floodwaters, and were able to donate and distribute 150 bednets and 25 WaterSafe Packs.

Before leaving these displaced families to assist other communities, the PFC team held gospel gatherings to pray for God’s continued protection and to share His hope; because we know we serve a God who meets every need and comforts every broken heart.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10

Today is World Malaria Day - a day in which we remember and recognize the 3.3 billion people globally who are at risk of contracting malaria.

In honor of today, the Partners for Care team in Kalifi is taking bed nets to a remote island off the coast of Kenya.

The only way to get to Kirepwe Island is by boat, and once there, you have to wade through water to reach the village!

But we don’t mind a bit…the smiling faces that greet us, and the knowledge that these bed nets will keep so many families protected against malaria, makes every effort worth it.

Did you know that when you give to a Partners for Care sewing school, you’re not just teaching someone how to sew?

Take Lydiah for example! She…
✅ Fulfilled her lifelong dream of learning to sew
✅ Gained a new skill
✅ Found her purpose
✅ Feels proud of her career
✅ Is building a future for herself and her family
✅ Serves her community by sewing bed nets for others

What an amazing gift! Thank you PFC donors for the life-changing transformations you provide to young women like Lydiah ❤️

“God surprised me today! All glory to Him!”

87-year-old Maureen couldn’t help but praise God when our team in Kenya brought her a brand new cane to replace the old pipe she had been using to help her get around.

And as Maureen began to walk around, her pain diminished and her smile grew.

Praise be to God for the healing He brings! All glory to Him 🙌

In 2010, Partners for Care opened its very first computer school - all with computers Connie had managed to fit into her suitcase!

Today, over 13,000 students have graduated from one of our computer schools, with many going on to secure employment due to their newly acquired skills.

We love seeing the transformation of each student, and dream of opening 100 computers schools in Kenya. And fortunately…Connie has found some easier ways to transport donated computers and laptops 😄

What’s the most unusual thing you’ve packed for a trip?

04/12/2024

Partners for Care was founded in 2007 when Connie had taken a trip to Kenya, but left feeling heartbroken by the many unmet, yet basic needs, of so many children.

But with each visit back to Kenya since, Connie's been met with exuberant smiles from each and every child PFC has touched.

We're so thankful to have the opportunity to distribute bed nets...but we're even more thankful for our donors who make this life changing work possible. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts ❤️

Health is a state of physical, mental and social well being. We believe this can be achieved through constant engagement through community trainings which focus on prevention rather than curative measures. This week our medical team engaged a group of young mothers to discuss various aspects of pregnancy planning and care. Our topics of discussion included when to initiate antenatal clinics, the importance of undergoing screening tests, recognizing danger signs during pregnancy, maintaining a balanced diet and nutrition, creating a birth plan, and understanding the risks associated with consuming over-the-counter drugs, alcohol, and other illicit substances during pregnancy. If you would like to benefit from this trainings visit our clinic in Marurui.

Mark 16:15 - He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." As we serve the communities on the ground we sometimes encounter people that need their hope restored through a word of God. This week our team down in Kilifi preached and prayed for a group of 41 youths in Chanagande and Mikiriani Kilifi villages. Most young men have lost hope because of economic hardship, we believe that everything will be fine and Jesus Christ restores broken hearts. We appreciate everybody that supports the work on the ground.

🌊The PFC team marked this year's World Water Day by distributing 21 WaterSafe backpacks to Kiawairia Primary School. Our mission is to provide a WaterSafe backpack in every classroom across Kenya, ensuring students have access to clean drinking water, enabling them to thrive academically. This initiative aligns with this year's theme, emphasizing the importance of equitable access to safe water for all. By working together to address water-related issues, we foster a sense of community.🌍💧

Growth is always exciting when you know it will enable you serve more people better. This week we opened a new partner sewing school in Kilifi namely VN Tailoring School. It marks a significant step in empowering more individuals through the sewing program. The school has 10 sewing machines and has already enrolled 17 students from diverse backgrounds.
We wish the school all the best and thank our donors for their support.

Our Marsabit team recently came to the rescue of nine year old Aliow and five year old sister Lelo. This was after a community health worker contacted them and informed them of the plight of the children. They are children to a single mum experiencing financial challenges and would sometimes go without food to eat. The children were also jigger infested making it difficult for them to walk. Our team visited their home and took them to our Center of Hope for a whole week where they treated the children for jiggers and donated food . After the one week stay at our rescue center they went back to their home healthy and full of joy. We appreciate our donors for their support.

Have you attended our free health trainings at our clinic? If not you are missing out. We have community health training every week covering various topics in healthcare. Last week we engaged with a gathering of youthful mothers, delving into topics such as colorectal cancer, menstrual irregularities and their management. Additionally, we explored the distinctions between urinary tract infections (UTIs) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) covering their management and prevention. The session drew participation from 35 young mothers. Visit our clinic in Marurui today to learn how you can attend the trainings.

The PFC Kilifi Program team recently came to the aid of 28 children from financially challenged families. Lack of uniform has a direct impact on overall performance of children in school, this is because it is mandatory in public schools to be in full uniform and those without end up being sent home and missing classes. The 28 children are now back in school and the parents are grateful for the kind gesture.
We appreciate all our donors for the support !

Junken Assa Zoneka nicknamed Madonge by his customers for being hardworking supports himself by selling various items at the Kwaupanga Trading Center. This was after receiving a mobility cart 7 years ago. The PFC Kilifi Program team recently replaced his old cart with a new one. This improved his mobility and he was able to supply to cold drinks to nearby public schools, marketplaces and local eateries. It has enabled him support himself and his brother.
