We haven’t done introductions in a while, so it’s time for us to show off our amazing staff. Today we’re going to highlight Dr. Matt Veronica, PT, DPT, CSCS
“It’s exciting to watch faces light up as someone starts to understand how their body works.”
Matt enjoys working with all his clients for different reasons, but his favorite conditions to address are the types that don’t have an obvious explanation at the start; he likes the challenge of having to do some thorough detective work first to solve them. Matt loves teaching people about anatomy and biomechanics – not in too complex of a way, but in a way that is helpful for getting them to understand their injury and to see the relevance behind our strategies of healing it.
Prior to earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from D’Youville University, Matt became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist while working for the Buffalo Bills. He has practiced in the private realm of physical therapy since 2015 and created Ethos in 2020. In 2024, he became a professor at a chiropractic school after eight years of guest lecturing in graduate programs and at conferences.
Oh yea, we also want to announce that we are adding an additional location!!! This Amherst location will be a great fit for people who would prefer not to come to our office in a gym, who live closer out this way, and also all pelvic health PT will take place at this new spot.
Dr. Zach and Dr. Matt will operate both here and at our Mustache location in Tonawanda. Dr. Christine will only operate out of the Amherst location.
It will have a soft opening next week, and we are working around the clock to get this place in top shape for you all! See you there!

About 50% of our clients come see us after not having success with other healthcare/wellness providers. I’m so proud of them for not stopping after the first time and saying “PT didn’t work” or “this can’t be fixed.” Keep searching for someone who can get you the answer.

Ok, so this is nowhere near a complete list of features of a good PT. It is more like the absolute MINIMUM. That being said, if you leave your first PT session and these qualities haven’t been met, RUN. You owe it to yourself to find better care. It is out there.

Come learn from one of our influencers this Thursday at . Dr. Geraci is a great physician and educational resource that Buffalo is lucky to have.
We are so fortunate to have had 2023 World’s Strongest Man Mitchell Hoopercome to Mustache Fitness and Barbell LLC and teach us some actionable tips from his education and experience. We hope you have another year or 2 of reign before Coach Zach takes your title 😉
At to speak to students on the concept of when a personal trainer/strength coach should make the decision to refer a client to a PT/healthcare provider. These can be surprisingly murky territories, and a lot of trainers struggle with when to make that call (we know, we’re strength coaches too). Having some guidelines to reference removes the “decision-making” involved.
More details tomorrow?
These before/after pictures tell a story. ⛳️ On the left is a very dedicated golfer who is doing his best but doesn’t realize the stress his back is enduring because of some mobility and strength limitations in other body regions.
Sure enough, major back injury came.
On the right is the same golfer, dedicated as ever, but aimed at improving the way his body operates. Amazingly enough, we never worked on the golf swing, but when he got back to the range, he had so much more mobility and control that the mechanics followed.
Watch out Buffalo, is coming to a course near you.
Casual shot of working his magic, that’s all
We had some pretty passionate responses to yesterday’s poll about when the best time is to get tissue work. Turns out, they all can be the best choice, but which one is best depends on the scenario. There are a lot of factors to consider but this is a pretty simplified framework. ⬆️⬆️
If you aren’t sure which is best for you, shoot us a message about when you should come in!
When is the best time for manual therapy? With the Mustache Mayhem meet right around the corner, we have some athletes looking to improve their mobility and /or encourage tissue healing. We believe that healing tissue requires more time to fully recover and may take 5-10 days as the body produces a healing response. When addressing tight tissue that limits mobility, we see the most benefits lasting 2-3 days. Manual therapy alone is not a solution and is best complimented with specific exercises to load muscles and joints. Consider these time-frames when thinking about your goals for manual therapy sessions and time them accordingly with your training.
The end of January is that time every year where we get a ton of powerlifters coming in for some tissue work before the Mayhem meet at

Over the next few days we are going to post some answers to questions we get about how and when to strategize tissue work before a competition.

The future is bright but doesn’t come without effort.
The reverse plank is probably the most relaxing looking exercise 😅
We’ve been integrating more anti-flexion work to develop the ability of the spine to maintain neutral under forces that would cause it to bend forward. Certainly has rehab purposes but also can be a great warmup for something like a deadlift workout.
