With courage, confidence and faith...

Much can be accomplished!

Would you agree?

Each day, we choose to make countless micro-commitments in oder to get closer to succeeding at our goal.

Some commitments are bigger and more critical than others...and for those, we need to find the courage, confidence and faith to commit.

- without courage, we could stall and may never commit;
- without confidence, we may "choke at the plate"; and

- without faith, we wouldn't have the hope that success is even possible

Next time you need to commit, check your courage, confidence and faith..

"Talk Less. Smile More. "

What Aaron Burr taught me to be a better leader in business.

In "Hamilton" the musical, Aaron Burr said this to Alexander Hamilton and it stood out to me as a key ingredient to success in business.

Talking less...
1. Allows you to listen intently, making the speaker feel more appreciated.
2. Shows the speaker that it's about "them", not about "you".
3. Helps you understand better allowing you to be of greater value

Smiling More...
1. Causes a release of dopamine and serotonin which boosts your mood.
2. Makes others smile also and in turn makes them feel better.
3. Makes others feel rewarded, and when you are the cause of that, generates more trust in you.

BUT...be genuine. No one like a fake smiler!

You don't need to be busy to be successful.

Instead, be successful without being busy.

Do this:

1. Look for “noise” in your weekly calendar, and eliminate it.
2. Delegate tasks that you do that someone else on your team does better and enjoys more.

3. If you don’t have someone on your team to do #2 above, add someone. A virtual assistant or contractor works great for this.
4. Schedule “focus time” on your calendar and never cancel the appointment. Use that time to knock out your important tasks

5. Schedule personal/family/play time to recharge as a leader. You’ve earned it!
6. Rinse and repeat the following week.

**“Noise” on your calendar can surely sabotage your success.**

I had the privilege of accompanying my young daughter to her first real networking event which was centered on her university dream school. As we arrived, she was very keen to learn any insights I had for her and I offered them up.

When I saw her in action, as her Dad, I was so impressed and proud of her. She took in every bit of advice and ran with it and made it her own. She made a very important connection with the Keynote Speaker, and built great rapport with other guests. It was awesome to see her in action and to see her joy afterwards!

The whole experience made me think of the importance in business to lean on "those that have been there before you." There is so much to learn from others.

If you are open and willing to humble yourself in knowing that there is ALWAYS room for improvement, and you set out with purpose and intention to improve...you WILL succeed!

And as you set out to improve any part of your life or skill, know that you can rely on those that came before you...Learn what they have done, implement the same strategies, then make it your own, "Emulate, then innovate".
