So often the standards set have allowed women especially black women to believe they have to accept or make room for failure in their lives. The idea of women like us succeeding was like a unicorn for years, but now tides have turned and women are changing the norm, pushing the limits, taking dynamite to destroy the glass ceiling! We are entering a new era and not making reservations for failure! The pressure for women to WIN, goes beyond herself; it includes the husband she partners with; the child she carries and the sister she uplifts. Success can no longer be the exception, it has now become the rule! But with this we must understand that our goal to succeed doesn’t have to come at our demise, we are not martyrs. Having the mindset of not making reservations for failure, doesn’t mean we won’t fail, it just means success is the goal and what we have arranged time and space for. We may experience loss along the way but we are not setting “Failure” a plate or space.
