11U Nebraska Gold 515. Central Iowa
We Ready!
Awesome experience for the girls this weekend to play several games with Select Fastpitch and practice with the MIZZOU softball team leading us!
Diamond State Spotlight on this Saturday evening takes us to Iowa and home of Nebraska Gold 515 11U! I was soo excited when this team accepted the invite to attend the event this year. When I saw them in Oklahoma, they were a very exciting team and were impressive in all aspsects of the game. What also stood out is the class that the team, coaches, and parents displayed. I am honored to have you all with us! Below is a summary of what to expect when you see this team in Hot Springs:

Nebraska Gold 515 11U is based out of Ankeny, Iowa and affiliated with the Millard United Omaha, NE organization. We’re delighted to be a part of the 34 teams participating in the Diamond State Fall Legacy this year. Our motto is and you can see it in the girls faces during every practice, team event and game. Their love for the game pushes them to be the best versions of themselves, not only on the field but in their every day lives. They welcome any challenge put in front of them and won’t back down.
Last year the girls put up a 47-15-3 record, while playing up an age group most of the year. They worked hard to get the #1 Iowa ranking and #1 Midwest ranking for 10A. They have back to back state championships for 2021 & 2022. We’re very excited about their future as softball players and beyond.

Pool selection for the Oct 20-23rd USSSA Elite Select Diamond State Fall Legacy Invitational in Hot Springs, Arkansas
Last night at practice the girls were surprised with not one, but two rings. They won the USSSA points race in 2021-22. After playing a large part of the season in 11U and 12B, they still finished 10A first in Iowa, first in the Midwest, and sixth in the country.
After starting out the Fall playing 12A, we’ll head to Waukee Sunday to play in the CIS Strike out Pediatric Cancer One Day.
Several of our girls had the weekend off but couldn’t stay away from the field! Thanks ladies for helping out at Miracle League!
The run continues. Champions of the Stars and Stripes Invitational. Protecting the home turf at Prairie Ridge.
So much fun to have this group out on the same field again. Complete team effort top to bottom with plays being made all around. Our pitching continues to be stellar and our hitting was as timely as ever. Nebraska Gold 515 08 Champions of the Quad City May Madness 14 Open Division.

Rain has ended the fall season early for the 515. What a fall season it was. This 13U team finished 3-0 and won their pool in the 18B division of the CIS Spooktacular.
Game 1 was a pitchers’ duel and after taking a pitch off the hand in her first at bat, Lauren Sandholm ‘27 battled through and beat Alliance Select Cox 2-1. In the top of the 2nd, McKaiden Wills ‘26 led off with a single, Ava Faber ‘26 continued her tear at the plate with a double to left to score Wills and then scored when Avery McGaffin ‘26 reached on error. Those 2 runs were all that were needed with Sandholm striking out 7 and an error free defense.
Game 2 saw the 515 up against Crow River Legacy out of Minnesota. A 9 run 5th inning blew open what was a close game as the 515 won 15-3. Jordyn Kennedy ‘26 went the distance in the circle scattering 3 hits and striking out 7 with once again an error free defense behind her. The Northsiders pounded out 16 hits including Faber going 3-3 with a HR and a double, Kennedy 2-3 with a double, Audrey Sandholm ‘27 2-2, Ellie Po***ck ‘27 2-4 with a double and triple, and Kori Lincicum ‘26 2-4.
Game 3 was for first place in the pool against a very strong Boone Toreador High School Program. 6 runs in the 3rd inning got the 515 the lead and 3 more insurance runs late allowed them to hang on for a 9-7 lead. Lincicum pitched the full game and struck out 4 with once again zero errors behind her. Wills and Audrey Sandholm were each 2-2 and Kennedy added another bomb to her fall total.
These future Centennial Jaguars went 15-2 playing primarily 16 and 18u this fall and look forward to what the future holds.
A team batting average of .349 and a Fielding percentage of .945 has everyone pretty excited heading into winter work on what these girls can accomplish.
Thank you to Coach Starr and McGaffin for working with these crazy fall schedules and making these girls better.
Jordyn Kennedy and Ava Faber each added to their homerun totals today playing 18B. Full write up to come later, but spoiler alert…it was a good one!
Last tournament of the Fall and this will be fun. Going to give 18B a shot.
