We’re here!!
What an amazing weekend for Connecting the Dots and our incredible library partners earlier this month.
CTD co-founder/co-chair and CTD member traveled to St. Pete Beach, Florida to present on our work in Anne Arundel County and the vital role that public library systems play in communities confronting their histories of lynching and other forms of racial terror and violence.
We joined Skip Auld, CEO of , and Rose Dawson, executive director of , as they shared what their libraries have done in this work.
Thank you to for recognizing the importance of this topic across the country and for the opportunity to present on this work that means so much to us. We’re going to keep speaking, working, and teaching until every community in our country has fully confronted their roles in perpetuating white supremacy and Anti-Blackness.

This is an Emmett Till Alert. Consider this as an Advisory Alert!
Last month the city of Philadelphia apologized for the inhumane 1970’s experiments on Black inmates. For two decades 1950’s – 1970’s unethical medical experiments were performed on inmates who were oftentimes illiterate, awaiting trial, or trying to save money for bail (view full article through the link in our bio).
The inmates were injected with asbestos and exposed to viruses, fungus, and other chemical agents including dioxin - a component of Agent Orange.
This alert is to inform you that if you or a member of your family were incarcerated at Holmesburg prison in Philadelphia, you should seek immediate medical attention.
These experiments were done without the knowledge of the inmates, who may have inadvertently infected their loved ones. In Maryland, if you are aware of any similar experimentations that may have occurred contact us immediately at [email protected].

HIGH SEVERITY INCIDENT:
This is an Emmett Till Alert. Consider this as a Severe Advisory Alert!! We have information that indicates that there are planned coordinated violent attacks to be carried out against children and adults in daycare and other facilities within the Black Community across the United States. This information has been obtained from sources that have been tracking communication among several groups and individuals on the dark web. therefore, we are asking that Black daycare centers across America heighten their security to adequately prepare for this potential threat.

We are so inspired by this community, who came together on Saturday for the Anne Arundel County hearing to confront our county’s history of racial terror lynchings.
Thank you to the MD Lynching Truth and Reconciliation Commission for spearheading this and providing a forum to share these mens’ stories.
Say their names: John Simms; George Briscoe; Wright Smith; Henry Davis; King Johnson.
Let’s keep connecting the dots…
JOIN US TOMORROW @ 9AM AT CITY HALL: https://msa.maryland.gov/lynching-truth-reconciliation/public-hearings.html
After the Civil War and the end of slavery, racial terror lynchings were a form of systemic oppression organized by white communities to terrorize and surveil Black communities. These horrific acts of violence, which usually went unpunished, were just one of the many insidious methods used to perpetuate white supremacy, and Anne Arundel County was not an exception.
For the first time, there will be an official hearing into these murders organized by the Maryland Lynching Truth and Reconcilation Commission.
Please join us THIS SATURDAY @ 9AM to hear the narratives of each victim and testimony from historians, organizers, and community leaders. Members of the public are welcome to sign up to testify as well. Click the link in our bio to learn more and register today.
We hope to see some of you at this historic event and contribute to the process of community healing through truth.

One of the most moving photos from our ceremony memorializing King Johnson, the last known victim of racial terror lynching in Anne Arundel County. Connecting the Dots founders Jenn Haber and Amaka Lindsey have worked tirelessly to make CTD what we are: a family of grassroots organizers working for reconciliation and healing through truth. We wouldn't be where we are without them.
We are so grateful to ICTJ for taking this photo and featuring CTD's memorial and soil collection ceremony for King Johnson in December, as well as other racial justice grassroots movements in their new piece for Juneteenth, including the photo of the event in this post. We hope you'll take a read through the link in our bio.
