Proper harness routing and retention is very important on offroad machines. The vibrations and movements a machine encounters can cause damage to wires.

We recently had a customer reach out to us after spending thousands of dollars at another shop to fix a limp mode and service light. The previous shop loaded the parts cannon and replaced multiple parts, including a very expensive part completely unrelated to the code. Their final diagnosis was the machine needed a wiring harness. They made this guy wait over 10 months for the replacement harness!! It was one of those nightmare backorders that kept getting pushed out. Finally, the customer had enough and brought his car to us.

We relied on our extensive electrical troubleshooting experience gained through a career in heavy mining equipment repair at the dealer level. Upon testing of the machine wiring harness, we noticed slightly higher resistance on the signal wire for the sensor circuit responsible for the code. A "wiggle test" of the harness led us to find this very obvious issue. At some point the retention clips for the harness did not get installed correctly, causing the harness to bounce around and make contact with the prop shaft. The bouncing caused the wire to break inside the insulation causing an intermittent code depending on movement and current.

Proper troubleshooting, a simple soder repair, some zip ties and harness tape, had this customer back in the dirt.

Here are some "after" pictures of the Turbo S re-wire job we completed. We designed and installed a protected and dedicated auxillary power distribution system utilizing Deutsch, Eaton and Caterpillar components to create a system that will outlast the machine. Should any issues arrise, this system is easy to troubleshoot with color coded wire and connectors that can be back probed. The harnesses feature multiple connection points to make disassembly easy. We pride ourselves in our quality of wiring jobs that utilize proper routing, retention, and components to reduce possibilities of issues and damage.

We recently completed a complete re-wire on a client's RZR Turbo S. This machine was suffering from poor and intermittent sound quality, non functioning communication radios and light circuits, and bad wiring. It just came out of a prominent local repair facility for a frame section replacement roughly 40 engine hours prior.
