Our girls are headed to Plano, Texas next month as they fight for the 2024 Southern President's Cup title against teams from all over the southern US. If they win, they'll move on to compete for the National President's Cup. What makes it even more incredible is that our team has just ONE true U18 player with most players playing one to three years above their normal age groups. It‘s crucial for young athletes to establish a strong foundation in physical health. Understanding proper form when exercising, ways to develop age-appropriate strength and speed, and understanding the significance of nutrition and rest is vital to set that foundation. We are excited to announce a 20% discount for our Central Florida SC members on Dr. Dave Williams's latest book, "Stronger Soccer: Speed and Strength Drills for Youth Soccer." As the summer break is approaching, this book is an excellent way for players during the off-season to improve their speed and strength. Parents and players will also learn the reasons behind the exercises, making it a great opportunity to gain a better overall understanding. The book provides a 20-week strength and speed program for our Competitive and Academy players. It not only has hundreds of pictures of youth athletes demonstrating the drills, but also contains exclusive access to college and professional soccer players performing those same drills. This periodized plan will safely and effectively enable the athlete to improve their strength and speed. The book also provides the athlete with a nutrition plan. Dr. Dave’s master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation both examined the effects of weight training on the youth athlete.
