Getting ready for family day 2024!!! Woodcraft of Appleton/Fox Cities got a pile of material with your name on it, and warming up the laser!!(not really a thing, but sounded good).

Here they are! A few more designs for the wavy flag signs(same thing can be put on a non wavy one). Head to www.skilledcncwi.com to customize and order. We can get the first 25 or 30 orders done by the 4th of July!!!(for local pickup, shipping is available but can’t guarantee arrival before the 4th).

Sizes range for 9”x30” to 9”x60”(can do longer on request or if required for customization.

MDF cabinet doors! Great replacement to update cabinets while saving some money. Painted door pics coming soon. Starting at $30 a square foot(non painted). Don’t settle for rounded corners(unless that’s what you want, we can do that too)! Many profile combinations available!! Pocketed, shaker, raised panel and just about any style are possible.

We can also do 2 piece or 5 piece traditional doors(solid wood and MDF) and are working our way up to full custom cabinet work(keep an eye on us in the near future, one in the pipeline right now).

Here’s a look at the assembled record player with the plinth I have been sharing pictures of.

A little finish work today.

Always fun to get a unique job to do. Never made a record player plinth before. In fact when the customer first approached me I had to google it. Now it’s Time to sand and finish. Not a bad job to break in the new machine with. Starting right out with by far the thickest part I’ve machined all the way through(as far as wood goes).

Big news!!! Skilled CNC is increasing its capabilities. New bigger machine is officially inbound. Plan is to be up and running within 1-1 1/2 months(stay tuned for updates). The plan is to hit the ground running!! Scheduling now, we are already starting to fill up!!

New capabilities:
1. 5’x10’ bed. This will allow us to do large sheet goods, slab flattening, wall panels, large wooden(or other materials such as plastic, foam, and some aluminum work),and much more…

2. Rotary mill turning. The addition of a 4th axis allows for machining of decorative spindles, table legs, and full 3d carvings. Up to 12” diameter and 60” long. Can also be used as an indexer to accurately cut detail and flat work on multiple side of an item.

3. Some aluminum capabilities, think more for decorative accents, inlays, or functional parts(machine is not meant for ultra precise metal machining).

4. Speed and cost savings. The new machine will include automatic tool changing which allows us to save time on complex operations. This allows us to offer competitive pricing by streamlining the manufacturing process.

5. Specialty jobs are what we do best, one piece or a hundred, we guarantee customer satisfaction and will work with you to create an easy and efficient way to make your design a reality. We are autoCAD and solid works certified(available software will be determined by need) and have 20+ years of CNC programming and operating. Trust us with the jobs a bigger shop doesn’t have the time for.

Call/contact us soon we are starting to schedule jobs and right now have fast turn around, but are starting to fill up already! Don’t wait. We are a small shop catering to custom work. We will consider larger runs on a case by case basis. If all goes well we are looking to start jobs on the new machine as early as mid-June/early July.

We are a small operation(for now) with large capabilities, so meeting times will have to be scheduled.

Don’t forget about our laser engraving/cutting services as well. (Wood, acrylic, coated metal marking, rotary engraving). Put our 150w co2 laser to work. 32”x50” bed.

Bring your drawings and save money on set up. As of right now we don’t charge any minimums, whatever time it takes is what you pay(on most machining operations, but there may be a set up fee), but this could change based on production levels.

Well been a while since I posted anything, but been playing around with some 3D printing. Haven’t added anything on the website yet, but doing some great multicolor stuff. (Can do functional parts and prototypes also, including materials like ABS, nylon-carbon fiber, and just started messing around with poly-carbonate).

Finished up some charcuterie boards this week! Finally got to some of the pile of wood I’ve been collecting for the last year or so. These are Bacote, Olive, and Spalted Maple.

Would like to this opportunity to thank Tom and a few others(not sure if they will see this or not) for trusting me to make this special sign for a wedding gift. Wasn’t sure it would get done in time(only had 3 days to design and make) but mission accomplished!!! I enjoyed making it, and wish Tim and Tiffany Jo the best, and congratulations!

Sign is all one piece of solid maple carved and painted/stained and sealed.

Doesn’t mom deserve a cup that keeps her drinks cold(or hot). If it’s anything like our house I know she could use it.

A few tumblers(20oz) I have on hand. $20 each, except pink ($15) one due to poor placement of design. Each tumbler includes lid and is individually boxed.
