Did you know that April is stress awareness month? Making time for exercise and restoration can alleviate everyday stressors - and a little goes a long way. Check out a BarRestore class this month to stretch, breathe, and recenter. We offer this class every Monday at 6 am and every Thursday at 10:30 am with Lauren. HIGH LOW CROSS. This is one of the most empowering moves in Brawl® class. You get up, you get down, and then you KNOCKOUT your opponent with a huge cross punch. To make this move even stronger, keep your opposite hand in guard to protect your face. Add a heel lift or a big jump towards the ceiling as you punch high, bend your knees as you punch low, and throw your entire body into the cross punch before returning your hand to guard again.

With Valentine's Day a few days away, we want to remind you to not only love others, but to love YOUR BODY! We see all the incredible things your body does in the studio, from strength work, to stretching, to high-fiving your neighbor - so be proud of it and of your commitment to making your body (and mind) stronger each time you come to class 💕
TRAINING TIP: BOB & WEAVE. This one's for you, Brawlers. Every Brawl® class starts with a bob and weave, which not only allows you to mentally transition to class, it also sets you up with a strong, protected guard position that you'll maintain through class. Make sure you keep your fists at your cheekbones - NOT down at your chest. This will allow you to protect yourself where it matters most and set you up for your strongest jabs and crosses. See you in-studio soon for the words we all LOVE (and probably hear in our dreams)... "We go in 4,3,2 - bob and weave, take it side, to side..."
Throughout the challenge we are offering a new Boy Band REMIX Barre class. This class features your favorite boy band hits as well as our favorite resistance band props - like the red loop and green band. How do these props deepen your burn? Let us count the ways. When wrapping against the RED LOOP in side-lying clam, or at the barre in Narrow V, your outer glutes fire up to press against the band that is trying to pull your knees together. Resistance bands also make your core engage more deeply to stabilize. Next time you use one (or both!) of these props in class, close your eyes to REALLY hone in on how your body reacts to the added resistance. We guarantee you'll feel the burn the next day!
Resolution Remix Starts Jan. 9, 2023
Let's talk about how the Resolution Remix challenge works. From Jan 9-29, grab a REMIX (bingo) card, and start working towards as many bingos as possible for chances to win big. Our bingo card is FILLED with chances to mix up your routine and discover a new class format or instructor. You can earn stamps for up to 2 squares per day. REMIX cards will be available in the studio starting January 9.
PROP SPOTLIGHT: KETTLEBELL. Bells will be... ringing? Whatever the popular Christmas song says, you can be sure to find OUR Kettle Bells helping you find your strength! Though this prop is only 5 pounds, the Kettlebell starts to feel a lot heavier when added to moves to a Side Plank hold (seen here), or when used in other Plank variations (think: Thread the Needle, Kettlebell Drags, Plank Rows). Next time you pick one up in class, remember how strong you are and breathe through the burn!

Choose from low-impact or high intensity classes as you sweat under the blue lights to music that drives you and a team that motivates you!
TRAINING TIP: ALL-4S DONKEY KICK. This move targets your center glutes. Your shoulders and core work as they stabilize you. This is one of our personal favorites... read on for tips to perfect the Donkey Kick Start in an All-4s position, hands under shoulders with a soft bend at your elbows. Lift your chin off your chest and gaze in between your hands. Curl your heel in towards your seat, hover your knee off the ground, engage your core, and soften your shoulders. Squeeze your center glute as you drive your toe up towards the ceiling, stopping as soon as you feel your back arch (it's so important to keep a neutral spine in this position to work your glutes - you don't want to use momentum or your lower back to create motion!) Slowly lower your knee back down as it comes to hover. Repeat and feel the booty burn! For an added challenge, add a 2- or 3-lb. hand weight behind your knee.
