Finding tension in the tubes that works for you is key; too much tension, and you may feel a pull on your joints; too little tension, and it may feel unstable to stand, like you need to open your chest REALLY far to find tension. She's been so kind to share her PB testimony and this is what she had to say- "I have never loved an exercise more than Pure Barre. I feel like a 6 year old in dance class. I have run 16 marathons over a decade, I have hired and fired personal trainers, I’ve done kickboxing, I’ve done Pilates, and I have never loved an exercise like I love Pure Barre. In my very first Barre class ever I had a thought that came into my head and that was – this will fundamentally transform your body, and IT HAS. For years I’ve been 145 lbs in a size 8 and after Pure Barre, I’m 145 lbs in a size 2! Because Barre lengthens and leans out your entire body in ways that other exercises just can’t. I mean I was running 80 miles a week at 185 lbs so running never made me thin, it never made me compact, but definitely Pure Barre has so that’s one benefit. Additionally, the teaching at Pure Barre is extremely consistent, the teaching and training they go through is very consistent so when I travel the country I have a handful of Pure Barre’s that I always go to in Albuquerque and Oklahoma City and Tulsa and Memphis and when I’m visiting my family in Connecticut.. and I can always be assured of a really great workout because the teaching is so consistent. But what makes Pure Barre Arlington so special is that it is a true Community, it is not just transactional like you go to the gym and you leave, I’ve made life-long friends their. We hangout outside of Pure Barre. It’s very friendly, it’s an easy place to go to, everyone is very kind and welcoming, and I just love to be there it’s a really great Community. Technique Tip Tuesday: Have you ever heard your teacher say "shaking muscles are changing muscles"? In Pure Barre Classic, we use isometric or very small range strength training to quickly and efficiently fatigue each major muscle group in the body. When the muscles fatigue at any certain length, the muscle fibers start to fire at different rates, which causes the shaky appearance and feel during class. Make it your goal to let your muscles shake each and every class!

The first thing is to have the will; the rest is technique 🤌 Today's #TechniqueTip focuses on R-E-F-O-R-M ✨ Reform uses positions from the Pure Barre Classic workout and adds resistance based strength training through tubes and sliders to build muscle strength. In Reform, you will move in slow and controlled ranges of motion to not only take joints through more dynamic ranges, but to challenge your muscles to maintain their strength throughout the movement. Everything is a learning process: anytime you fall over, it's just teaching you to stand up the next time. ✨ Here's a Technique Tip to help you with Balance - When using the platform in Pure Empower, make sure to engage your core and focus on maintaining your balance. Smooth, fluid movements that are within your controlled range of motion, as well as picking one spot in front of you to gaze at, will help you find more stability. Anytime you feel off-balance, remember that you can stop for a moment, re-gain your balance, and hop back into the movements when you're ready!

Modifying Planks for Wrist and Shoulder issues - . . Planks are a measurable and challenging part of any PB class, and proper form is integral to setting yourself up for success. As your abs fatigue, it is common to walk your hands too far forward or back, which can actually put more strain into the tops of your shoulders, neck, and wrists. In planks, make sure your wrists are stacked right under the shoulders, with hands just slightly wider than your shoulders.
