The Artrip Family
Singing and preaching the gospel for over 55 years and still going strong. We go to see souls saved One of the Tri State's first southern gospel families.
What started around 1947 with Thorney Artrip, has grown into a powerful family ministry that spreads the gospel all over the Tri State area. The ministry seems to get stronger every year and what started as 3 singing in little country churches has now turned into almost 15 dedicated family members who enjoy spreading the gospel at every place they go to.
Update from Christie…
Tim’s latest test results:
Lymph nodes have shrunk. Tumors undetectable! 🙌🏻 The oncologist’s words were “beyond expectations!”
Chemo/immunotherapy will continue for the next three months (as long as the neuropathy caused by the Oxiliplatin (chemo) doesn’t worsen) and then new scans will be done. The surgeon will be brought back in to consult with the oncologist to see if he feels any surgery is necessary. Otherwise, due to the stage 4 diagnosis, he will have immunotherapy once a month to try to prevent a reoccurrence and repeat scans will be done every three months indefinitely. We’re elated with the best possible results!
1 week away!
Thank you for all the prayers being lifted up for Tim, for me, for our family. We got back home from Lexington last night. It was a very long day. So far so good. No adverse reaction to any of the medications and so far no side effects from any of the chemo. Tim has a chemo pump he calls his little buddy that will stay attached for 46 hours and then will be removed at KDMC. Infusion days are going to be every other week and will be long and tiring. He will have blood drawn first thing to make sure all is clear for the regimen. If not adjustments will have to be made. The results take about an hour to come back. Steroids and Zofran are given and lidocaine rubbed on his port. After about twenty minutes the first part of the regimen is hooked up. It takes 30 minutes, then the second parts are hooked in. That takes about 2 hours. The final part is hooking in “little buddy” and giving it a five minute boost before we’re released. It’s a lot but we get to meet and witness to a lot of different people each time we go. I can’t begin to describe how great they have been to us at UK. We know it’s where God sent us and we are so thankful for His guidance. We will do our very best to complete the mission He’s entrusted us with. Tim calls this our great adventure! Not all adventures are easily realized. Some are over rocks and steep hills, some in rough waters or through dark woods or desert places and the weather isn’t always pleasant. Fierce storms, blistering heat, freezing cold and brutal winds can beat you down. This adventure has those unlovely features, metaphorically, but having a guide, knowing Him personally and that He loves us beyond measure makes all the difference! We are trusting Him that on the other side of this there is victory we’ve never known and a beauty we’ve never seen that will make the journey so worth it. We’ll get there. Step by step… 🙌🏻⛈️
Let's all wish Thorney and Carolyn a happy 59th anniversary!
Update on Tim from Christie
It’s been a rough afternoon. It’s not what we were hoping for. He is stage four. They found and removed a spot on the outside of the colon on a curtain of tissue. It was not anywhere else thank God. At this point he cannot have the surgery to remove the lower 1/3 of the esophagus. The biopsy will be tested to see what type of cancer it is. Most likely the same type which is adenocarcinoma. We have to wait for those results. We come back here to UK on Aug. 24th. They will then tell us what form of chemo he needs and when we can get started. He will have to make a final decision about where he wants to take treatments. Keep praying. The storm isn’t over yet 🙌🏻⛈️

Satan has really been at work this last month. Please keep Tim in your prayers. He had an endoscopy done earlier today. And the results came back that he has esophageal cancer. But my God is bigger than that
Carolyn left the hospital. 4 1/2 hours later, no food, no water, no news until she told them she was leaving and they said she was going be admitted. She told no she wasn't she was going home. They tried to tell her she was having chest pains. She said no I'm not having chest pains. I never said I was having chest pains. I took a pill last Monday that's caused a bad reaction. Now you send my results to Dr Prasad and I'll deal with him Thursday at my appointment! Lord she's got sass 😂
Please pray for Carolyn. They are taking her to the ER right now possibly with heart issues
Well this is kind of cool
We're a little late but let's wish Christie a happy birthday
Tim is home and resting. Surgery took longer because it was worse than expected. The muscles in his shoulder was basically shredded. The doctor is saying possibly 6-8 months recovery time. Keep Tim and Christie in your prayers
Pray for Tim this morning. He goes in this morning about 9:30 for his shoulder surgery. It could be several months before he's able to play bass again
