Just wanted to say thanks to all the people who were here from the start (before me even) and all the newer faces from the past handful of months. Not sure what is going to happen with The New Happiness (neither the house nor the page) but I do hope to continue booking in the future in Athens. I’m pretty sad that it’s really over. Love y’all ❤️

Hello!!! Sorry we have been harping y'all about missing things. But a few weeks ago, my Gerard way mug went missing. It looks like this! I totally understand that someone probably needed water or something and may have accidentally taken it home with them. I have searched the house for days, but alas. You see, I'm going to a "your favorite mug" party tonight and I don't have my favorite mug. If you have it, please let me know and I will pick it up! hey all, diana here. to whoever decided to steal my death from above/black rebel motorcycle club concert poster, please give it back. you can leave it on the porch and I won't ask any questions, but seriously return it. that's a poster specific to a show (ONLY 200 COPIES WERE MADE) and I can never buy it again. so thanks for that!

also: if you're going to trash a show house, just stay home. we trust everyone who comes into our home to not steal our valuable items so this is truly disappointing and super not okay. we're all adults here - people actually LIVE here and should be able to host y'all without our stuff being taken or ruined. respect your hosts or the shows end, period.

We have 3 people ready to live at The New happiness this coming summer through next school year & None of us will have any way to pay rent with just three. You've been here, you've listened to great bands here, but have you ever thought about LIVING HERE??? WELL NOW IS YOUR CHANCE. We are looking for 1-2 roommates starting May 2018. The house is all fixed up, so in other words, we have heat and things aren't leaking anymore. It's actually quite nice now. Very large bedrooms and communal living spaces (bar included). Very cute sunroom. We have a very large back porch in addition to a spacious front porch. Quiet street away from all the fests and free street parking is easy to find and in VERY close proximity. No cops, phobias, isms, TERFs, etc. Also, if you are a party of 4, you can just take the whole house and we will look for options with 2-3 bedrooms. Must be okay with MCR and fun decorating.

Last night a testimony was shared on the People’s Justice League page detailing a case of sexual assault committed by the co-owner of The Union, Eric Gunn.

At ACRN we strive to be inclusive and make our audiences and bands feel safe. Therefore, we have decided that it is in the community’s best interest for us to move our Spencer Radcliffe & Everyone Else show out of The Union. Instead, the show will now take place at 9 p.m. (doors at 8) tonight at The New Happiness, a venue that shares our drive for bettering the community and combating sexual assault, harassment, and all other forms of misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, and racism.

For all future shows we, as an organization, have decided against booking any more acts at The Union until action has been taken toward removing Eric Gunn from his position.

Additionally, the bands have agreed to donate 10% of all profits to My Sister’s Place, a non-profit for victims of domestic violence.

Hey everyone!! Sorry that we've been clogging your feeds lately but we have another important announcement. Like, super important:

A mic cable and cymbal were taken from a band that played our house recently and we absolutely NEED to get that back to them. Please message this page or a TNH host if you grabbed it or have any information on where it can be. You won't be punished or scolded or whatever (we get that accidents can happen too), we just need that back ASAP so any leads will help. We'll reward whoever can find them with a home cooked meal and a nice hug.

Seriously though, it's super s**tty for audiences or bands to sn**ch other band's things, and if this continues to happen, the availability of our space will suffer and we won't be able to continue these shows. We definitely don't want that happening, do y'all? Of course not. We hate to get all harsh and rules-y with y'all, but serious stuff is goin' down that needs to be addressed as the year begins. Thank u!

Hey ya'll. What a banger of a show this weekend, right? RIGHT. However, ya'll fu**in trashed the place so we have to reiterate some housekeeping rules for you. Buckle up because you're in for the ride of your life, BABY.

1. Please, in general, respect the space. Whether that is here, or 116, or anywhere else that hosts you. Remember that people actually LIVE HERE and we all work very hard to bring you a sick time. Don't make our time not sick.
2. PLEASE DONATE. We understand that money is tight for many of you, however, if we see you with beer and you didn't donate, please know that is super inconsiderate and it genuinely f***s over touring bands. If you CAN'T DONATE ACTUAL CASH: we will also totally accept snacks/food for touring bands, essentials you can buy with Bobcat cash/meal swipes/etc, help with clean up the day after, the list goes on. Just simply communicate with us and we will work something out. (-:
3. DO NOT STEAL BEER OUT OF OUR FRIDGE. We pay good money for it (except Devon.... sometimes... but don't steal from Devon either). This weekend, we had MULTIPLE cases of beer taken from our fridge. ALSO: people deadass stole directly from the supply of "stuff" from f**k you pay me. That is not cool. Not cool at all.
4. If you need anything from the house (cups, plates, etc.) please ask a host. Don't rummage through our kitchen or bedrooms.
5. DO NOT throw cig butts on the fu**ing ground. I spent like 45 minutes picking up cig butts today. We have empty wine bottles on the porch for a reason.
6. Stay off the sidewalk. This goes for anywhere you decide to party in Athens. Even though our street may not be a "party street," cops still decide to roll through here. That is a super easy excuse for them to shut us down. Please know that the survival of our space rests in your hands. We can't be everywhere at once to patrol shows 24/7.
7. We are very excited about the enthusiasm in our space, but please inform any of your friends that you decide to bring to be respectful. We love all of the new faces, but please tell them the rules. Donate, pick up after yourselves, don't be an as***le. We know that this weekend may have been a bit strange and out of character as it was Welcome Weekend. We appreciate those who have offered to help us.
8. No homophobia, no transphobia, no xenophobia, no sexism, no racism. LEAVE ALL OF YOUR PHOBIAS AND ISMS AT THE FU***NG DOOR. If you or someone you know is uncomfortable due to the actions of another in our space, please alert a host and we will quietly remove them without fu**ing over your anonymity. You matter to us. We are currently brainstorming new ways for you to reach us easier/quicker.
9. Please message our page with any suggestions/ideas you have to make our space better. Once again, thank you to all of the people who have made this summer incredible and run smoothly. Inform your friends. This post is not in reference to anyone directly and it is not our intention to attack anyone.
