This month we had the pleasure of presenting at the GEMA/Homeland Security School Safety Conference, as well as the monthly training for our District 9 LE Chiefs and Commanders. Denim Day? In 1992 a r**e case was overturned when an Italian Court determined that because a victim’s jeans were tight she must have assisted in taking her jeans off, thereby consenting to her assault. The ruling would later be termed the “Jeans Alibi”. The next day the women of Italian Parliament protested by wearing jeans on the front steps of the Supreme Court. The protest was picked up by national media and has been a part of Sexual Assault Awareness month since. We’re proud and honored to stand in solidarity with Buckle Jeans, our community partners, and survivors against sexual violence and any kind of victim blaming.
