All HCS schools and district offices will be open as scheduled tomorrow (Jan. 17). Parents are encouraged to dress students in warm clothing, including coats, hats, and multiple layers, as the area is under a Wind Chill Advisory until 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

Henry County's Emergency Management and Homeland Security Department has announced the opening of a warming station from Jan. 16-19, 7 p.m.-7 a.m., for anyone in need of a warm place to stay overnight. The station, which is located at J.P. Moseley, 1041 Millers Mill Rd, Stockbridge, will provide cots, blankets, hygiene kits, water, and snacks. Please share this information with individuals who may need assistance.

HCS is weather aware and continuing to work closely with Henry County EMA to monitor conditions related to a system that is expected to bring extremely cold temperatures to our area over the next two days. Currently, Henry County is not listed in the National Weather Service Winter Weather Advisory, and at this time, we are planning to continue normal operations tomorrow (Jan. 16).

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW. We will see everyone back TUESDAY!

Based on the latest information from the National Weather Service and Henry County EMA regarding the likelihood for severe weather tomorrow between noon and 6 p.m., Henry County Schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 12.

Facilities and Maintenance staff should report at their regularly scheduled time due to their essential role in storm preparation. All other employees should not report to work. All school-related activities are canceled on Friday, and a decision will be made by Friday evening regarding weekend activities.

TONIGHT is spirit night!

As a reminder, HFBA follows HCBOE for inclement weather. We will update ASAP in the event of school closures or delayed start times.

HCS is weather aware and continuing to work closely with Henry County EMA to monitor conditions related to a system that is expected to bring heavy rain, gusty wind, and the risk of strong or severe storms across the area overnight and early tomorrow (Jan. 9). At this time, we are planning to continue normal operations.

Please anticipate inclement conditions during the morning hours. If an adjustment to operations becomes necessary, it will be communicated to families via Infinite Campus, our website, and social media as soon as possible.
