Look for ASYMMETRY in the lesion. If one half of the lesion is unlike the other half. ✨B - is for border. Check to see if the spot has an irregular, scalloped, or poorly defined border. ✨C - is for color. Check to see if the spot has varying colors from one are to the next. For example, shads of tan, or brown, or black, red, white or even blue. ✨D - is for diameter. Look for lesions 6 mm or greater, as melanomas are usia greater than 6mm. However, when diagnosed, they can be smaller. When in doubt, refer to the other ABC and Es. ✨E - is for evolving.
