INROADS College Links is a college and career readiness program for minority high school students in all aspects of academia.
The program provides students with soft-skills tools, goal setting and career immersion activities.

Scholars can begin signing up on Thursday, May 30th.
During the May workshop, INROADS and
Step By Step, Inc. provided the scholars with a full day of enrichment activities.
They spent the day learning about time management skills. The scholars engaged in a S.T.E.M interactive project to gain a greater understanding of good and poor time management. Students were required to build a tower out of marshmallows and toothpicks.
During the activities, the scholars focused on team management, public speaking, confidence building and critical thinking.

During the February workshop, the scholars were able to celebrate Black History Month, a time to honor the invaluable contributions and enduring legacies of African Americans. Thank you to Xi AlphaQues for providing the Inroads College Links WV Market and Step By Step, Inc. scholars an opportunity to learn about the rich cultural heritage of the Black community.
The scholars had an opportunity to network and engage in thought-provoking conversations with INROADS alumni and other community leaders. This long-lasting relationship will impact the future of the scholars.
Several of the scholars had the opportunity to displayed their talents through spoken word and music.
This experience provided the scholars with communications skills, confidence building, critical thinking skills, and team building.

Commitment & Persistence
During the November workshop, INROADS and Step By Step, Inc. provided the scholars with a full day of enrichment activities.
They spent the day learning leadership skills and the tools necessary to be an entrepreneur.
Michael Howard, SCHS Alumnus, and current pilot for Southwest Airlines, spoke to the scholars about the importance of being persistent and committed.
Robinson Shamika, owner of LUV Enterprise, spoke to the scholars about the necessary steps to be an entrepreneur. The students also provided informatuon on the importance of maintaining good credit.
This activity provided confidence building, critical thinking skills, and team building.

The scholars were given a topic and they were required to present it to their peers. Several of their peers were selected to serve as judges, and the presenters were judged on Stance, Projection, Articulation, Tone, Eye Contact (SPATE).
This activity provided confidence building, critical thinking skills, and team building.
