Food labeling is confusing. But do not be deceived!
When orange juice says it's non-GMO, please recognize that all oranges are non-GMO. The only potential GMO products in the USA are papaya, corn, alfalfa, soybeans, cotton, potatoes, squash, canola, sugar beets, and apples.
When organic milk is labeled antibiotic free, remember that all dairy products, including milk, are always antibiotic free. Same applies to meat.
Those bananas advertised as cholesterol free? That's because all bananas are cholesterol free.
When a jar of peanuts says it is made in a plant that processes peanuts just use your common sense and roll your eyes.
When a bag of apples says it is gluten free, remember that gluten comes from wheat.
When you see a Facebook post that talks about hormones in beef, please understand that an 8oz serving of beef has 2-3 nanograms of estrogen, an 8 oz serving of white bread has 136,080 nanograms of estrogen, and 8 ounces of soy flour has 342,468,000 nanograms of estrogen. All living things produce estrogen, it's just science.
When that carton of eggs says that they came from vegetarian fed chickens, don't forget that chickens are naturally omnivores.
So yes, eat healthy, but don't be swayed by deceptive advertising. Be informed.
No farms, no food. Know your farmers, know your food.

Know what you’re buying. This picture has store beef(left), and farm beef(right). There is an obvious visible difference between the two! But the differences don’t stop there!
1. You may notice in the picture the color difference. The store bought is pumped full of additives and water. There isn’t a guarantee of where that beef came from either. Yes, it may have USDA label on it but as long as that animal was packaged in the US, it can be called a Product of the USA. The meat in the package is not from one single cow, rather scraps from multiple cows. It could have came from Argentina, Canada, or Brazil.
2. The beef on the right is darker and is farm raised beef. It is filled with more nutrients & flavor. The ground is also from one cow and not just scraps from multiple cows.
3. Buying your beef from a local Farmer/Rancher you are helping to buy a little girl dance shoes or a little boy baseball gear. Buying from the store just lines the pockets of the already wealthy meat packers. Let’s help each other. We help you eat healthy, you help us provide for our families.
Buy from a local ranch/farm!
Borrowed post from another farm.
I know it’s been awhile. I decided to join our local Sheriff’s Office, so the Academy owned me for the last three months for training. So it set us back . Now we are back in full swing, I pick up a steer Friday from the processor. We also have some pork if interested call 770 367 4698 or if you have any questions ..
Let's set the story straight with hormones in beef.
1. Hormones are naturally occurring in ALL living things, even plants.
2. There's 51,483,600ng of estrogen in 8oz of tofu (soy) and 3ng of naturally-occurring estrogen in 8oz of beef. 🤯
3. One birth control pill contains 35,000 ngs of estrogen
4. An adult female would have to eat 95.3 steers’ worth of beef per day (483 pounds each) to match her own daily production of estrogen.
5. Let's stop with the "meat and milk are full of hormones" propaganda and accept that they are SAFE AND NUTRITIOUS.

THE ROCK, GA. Yes, there really is a town named The Rock. Halfway between the west Georgia cities of Barnesville and Thomaston there is a community known as “The Rock.” How does a place inherit such an unusual name? The story begins before any of these towns existed. Americans began to settle this area of the Piedmont during the early nineteenth century. One of these early settlers was Dr. James Anderson, whose house is still standing today on Highway 36. Back then, the mail ran by stagecoach, and with no post office around in 1816, Anderson told the stagecoach driver, “Put my mail in the hole in that rock.” There was a giant boulder near his home that had a cleft in the side of it, perfect for keeping mail safe and dry until it could be retrieved by Anderson or others in the area. Whenever mail was addressed to “The Rock in Georgia,” it made its way to the hole in the rock close to Anderson’s home. After locals began traveling by buggy to the rock to get their mail, people began to refer to the town as “The Rock.” Though the boulder had to be blasted to make room for the highway, a remnant still remains with a plaque, designating it as the site of the “First Post Office at The Rock.” The town owes its name to this rock.
