This Valentine’s Day weekend was our best weekend since the pandemic began, at all of our cafes. It is not lost on us that many of you waited in a cold drizzle to get your pastries. Your support through thick and thin this year has kept us going and believing in brighter days ahead. Thank you. And now we start dreaming about spring pastries and market season. ❤️❤️❤️

These humans make me laugh, keep me hopeful, impress me daily, and work so hard to make delicious food and coffee for you, our customers. In this most challenging year, I am beyond grateful to get to work every day with these folks. And now we rest, for a beat. (See the last photo for how we all feel). Team Tart, on this our 10th Thanksgiving what I’m most grateful for is YOU. Xoxo Sarah

Friends, we've been working hard to get all of our shops open 7 days a week. Starting this Monday all stores will be open every day for walk-up orders. This means you can walk right up to our window or register and place an order right then and there -- no pre-orders required.

We've been using a pre-order system the past few months to make everything as contactless as possible for the safety of our staff and customers. With the research coming out, we feel safe accepting orders in person, but for now we will be keeping our inside dining areas closed for seating. Please wear a mask when you visit us. ❤️

If you prefer to pre-order, our Grant Park location will still be accepting same-day orders through our Square store and advance orders through our website. Our larder is still there in our pre-order shop, if you need milk, eggs, lemons, pasta, butter, etc.

We'll be bringing some new pastries your way soon so stay tuned! We’re also working on a pie subscription and a sourdough bread subscription if you want to reserve either of these weekly! 🥧🍞🥐✨

Thank you for rolling with us as we figure out how to do business in this very challenging time. @ Peachtree Road Farmers Market

This weekend we are donating 100 pieces of peach and almond bostock to the first of many fundraisers for Southern Restaurants for Racial Justice. We’re also donating 10% of sales all weekend from all cafés and farmers markets - all to benefit , who seek to create a more human and less hostile world for Black people in America. Our fundraisers this weekend are in honor of George Floyd, and as our dear friend so eloquently put it in honor of “ALL Black fathers and Black mothers having the conversation of racial justice with their children. Every. Single. Day. “

The fundraisers this weekend are just the beginning. We are a loose coalition of bakers, chefs, and restaurant owners who want to give back to Black-led organizations who have been actively working for years to dismantle systemic racism and oppression in our society. We want to amplify the organizations that have been doing this work for a LONG time, long before we showed up. Want to sign up for the next fundraiser? DM us!

Help us support - link in bio for the bakesale. And thank you to and for helping us get this idea off the ground. There are over 200 businesses participating across 16 cities in the south.

There’s so much happening next week! We are reopening our stall on Tuesday at 8am. For now we will be open 8am - 4pm Tuesday - Sunday, and you can order onsite. Next Friday and Sunday all stores will donate 10% of sales in honor of Juneteenth and Father’s Day. We’re also participating in a charity bakesale Sunday. Saturday is participating in and will donate at least 10% of sales. All donations are going to as part of the Southern Restaurants for Racial Justice initiative. We’ll post more about this this week. And finally we’ll be making this peach pie for Father’s Day weekend, available on our website from Thursday at noon until they sell out. 🍑✨

We have country loaves (sourdough!) today and tomorrow (Friday/Saturday)! 🥖 We’ve been taking this weird pandemic time to work on something y’all have been asking for since we opened - bread! We don’t have it daily just yet, but we’ll announce in our stories whenever we’re baking from now on. This is a photo of our .starfish and a bake we did with King Arthur Flour; we donated all of these loaves to Loaves and Fishes in Grant Park. And yes Em is wearing her apron - back when we could all travel we sent her there for a few days to stage. If you’re in Chicago check them out - they are incredible, and so generous. All this to say, we’re so excited to bake bread for you, friends. ❤️

Just trying to make something good for y’all. ❤️ Don’t forget to tag your favorite restaurants and invite them to join our upcoming Father’s Day fundraiser in honor of George Floyd; details in our previous post and more to come. We love you, Atlanta.

In honor of Breonna Taylor, who would have been just 27 years old today, we'd like to followup on our previous posts with the next steps our bakery is taking in our ongoing anti-racism work. The average age of the team at Little Tart is 27.

1. We are working with and to establish fundraisers in our cities under the group "Southern Restaurants for Racial Justice." We are starting with a fundraiser on Father's Day to honor George Floyd. We will donate 10% of all sales that day to Black Lives Matter in our cities, and we are reaching out to friends in the South to raise as much money as possible. Want your favorite restaurant or bakery to participate? Please tag them and we'll get them more info.

2. The goal with this group is to hold one fundraiser per month for at least the rest of 2020. We believe we can get our businesses through a pandemic AND work toward a more equitable city and nation - this industry must emerge better, not the same.

3. We are establishing an anti-racism lending library at Little Tart for our staff. The bakery will purchase these books and have them on hand for staff to borrow. We'll share our reading list with y'all here in a different post, but many Black folks have already done this work for us online and we thank them; proper acknowledgement to come in that post.

4. We are working on setting up a voter registration table at Little Tart. We'll help any other business who wants to do this set one up. VOTE VOTE VOTE.

5. Our management team is predominately white (we are a work in progress, always), and that is not a true reflection of the team that makes up Little Tart. We will address this moving forward as we delegate leadership roles within our own team.

6. And finally, this idea comes from our friends at - if you are heading to a protest this month and need a cup of coffee, we'll give you one at our Grant Park store for free, just ask.

We pledge to do our work long after the news cycle has moved on to something else. We love you, Atlanta.

Today is not a day for pretty pastry photos. We stand with our black neighbors, customers, friends, employees, fellow Atlantans, citizens. We see you and we support you. We’re working on ways to provide direct financial support to our community members engaged in racial justice organizing work — stay tuned for more info in the coming days.
